I have a close friend in very rural Alabama (read: the only internet available is satellite) who says that Starlink is the best internet service of all.

Win Win Win for the Progs. Smack Elon, keep the conservative rural areas on the wrong side of the digital divide, and keep from Twitter from being utilized by anyone the Progs dislike.

Trump be a dictator say the Progs. Classic projection.

Were these people born evil? I’ve never seen so much corruption in my life.

Pure tyranny!

While there has always been a political component to government control through brute force, like that described in the story, it has been raised to the level of plain, outright, unadulterated weaponization of our government against us.

I know. My business deals with one component of government oversight of a large portion of our economy.

Just like we see outright social engineering of our thoughts and our society, the same is true for all aspects of our lives.

the Bureau ultimately concluded that Starlink had not shown that it was reasonably capable of fulfilling RDOF’s requirements to deploy a network of the scope, scale, and size required ...”

Right. So, they'd probably prefer to give it to Hunter Biden because he's so much more "reasonably capable" than Elon Musk.

There is another thought about this story.

We complain about the woke crowd taking away our rights and promoting the concept, "You will own nothing -- and like it."

Guess what?

We're already there. You work hard, try to play by the rules, and accumulate, through your hard work, a good lifestyle and lots of "things."

Something happens, and you can't make your IRS payment. Unless you're a Biden or some other protected class, guess what comes next? They have the power to come in and seize all of your "stuff."

The IRS is just one example. There are many others.

So, you really don't own it. The government just lets you keep it for a while. They get to decide the "while" part. Not you.

Hmmm...
Seem to get the feeling that another reading of Ayn Rand will make everything much more clear & logical...
