Add in Intermittent Fasting and 5:2. Five days eat normal, two days eat a quarter of the number of calories. It’s better than just doing calorie restriction every day.

I looked at the article so I could see what a “healthier diet” is. They didn’t say, so how can I take this “Study” seriously?

My point was that the study didn’t even define the diet they claimed was better.

”The researchers suggest that governments and health authorities could leverage policy to improve life expectancy for people in general, such as adding taxes to unhealthy foods and subsidizing those that are healthy.” The LAST thing any socialist government wants is people living longer.
The FIRST thing any socialist government wants is to raise taxes.
So what’s a good socialist government to do? What a quandary.

Spent alot of time in the UK. Those people are rotund and do little activity. Same here in US.
Changing diet is fine but pointless without some activity. Get up and walk 30 mins daily is enough to maintain, add in a few ‘fun’ activities once or twice a week and voila!
Won’t work in a week, though, and most people won’t commit, so the gov solution is to deny you the foods you like and back to the pharmacy for pills.

My wife started doing that for me as soon as we were married and she’s gotten even better at it after 39 years. I give her huge credit for our good health. My diet would be horrendous if I was single, have mercy.
