Millennials have put off having children, so boomers are the oldest grandparents ever. Many millennial parents say they can't get the support they need from their parents.
(Excerpt) Read more at businessinsider.com ...
exactly! these young parents want to dump the kids off with the grandparents so THEY can go on vacation without their own kids!
Thank you for demonstrating your weak mind.
Maybe not with the older baby boomers, just after the war, but the later ones, I think my commment does apply.
Daycare started in the 70’s and you would have had to be born in the 1950’s be making use of daycare when they first started.
Nevertheless, it is something that we need to repent as a society and get back to raising our kids.
This!!!!!
“ Ahh ... generational stereotyping. It’s a sure sign of a weak mind.”
That thinking is EVERYWHERE.
Divide and conquer .
Except most baby boomers didn’t raise their children. They threw them into daycare and forgot their children existed, except for a couple of hours in the evening.
Ummmm NO - We made the decision to have one income raising 3 now successful as well-adjusted as they can be kids- Worth it-
My bride was fortunate enough to work at HS where they went to -Our basement was kind of the meeting place for their friends- Not a 70s show Red Forman basement though.
PS blanket statements without quantification are marginally credible.
Oh those horrible Boomers. You know. The ones who fought in Vietnam. The ones who said FU to the establishment and elected Trump. What has X, millennials or Z ever done?
I should also point out that the baby boomers of Freerepublic would be atypical, because they are more family oriented and traditional. I should add that to my overall comment.
Honestly, this disturbing cockeyed attitude is actually quite prevalent.
It is very prevalent, even on this forum ... which should be better.
BTW, calling it “thinking” is an insult to actual thought.
Generational stereotyping is an abject refusal to think.
“. generational stereotyping. It’s a sure sign of a weak mind.”
Eh, there are some generalities that whole true for the groups, albeit not for individual people.
Millennials are far more likely to be entitled brats than X, for example.
Tell me which generation is leading America and then try to explain why that generation is not at fault.
Hint, we are talking about the Boomers. The WW II is almost gone.
Gen X is far less dependent than Boomers.
ROFL!!!
You’re asking me to do the non-thinking for you.
No can do ... I’m challenging you to do better. Get this generational crap that you’re transfixed with out of your head. It’s an impediment to rational thought.
Gotten a participation trophy.
Amen.....
Across the street five millennials have grown up.
All have jobs and went to our trade community college except one.
She is a PhD Psychologist. three of the five are married but no grand children yet.
I would say that is true.
Basically the Nirvana generation. Born cynical.
Perhaps she can help the poor sad souls who are trapped in a sick mindset of generational stereotyping.
This boomer couple raised some great kids, now (hard-working) parents. And, we always help where we can, and we know that our "kids" will help their "kids" when they have kids.
It takes the precise opposite of a village, it takes a family, complete with family values.
