Michigan is the only pro team in a field if semi-pros.

I can’t believe Florida State did not make it with a 13-0 record. Was it injuries?

Look at the last CFP rankings before today:
https://www.espn.com/college-football/rankings/_/poll/21/week/14/year/2023/seasontype/2. Whatever team you pull for, see how many teams they played in these rankings. (Not what an opponent was ranked when you played them, i.e. I'm not impressed if you beat 4-8 Colorado when they were ranked. Look at each of your team's opponents in these rankings.)
Florida State played only 2 of those teams (and beat 2).
Michigan, Oregon, Washington had only 3 games against those teams (counting Oregon twice for Washington).
Georgia and Texas played 4 of those ranked teams. No wonder they have a loss.
Bama played 5 of those teams. Five. Let that sink in.
Want to know why Michigan and Florida State are undefeated? They played only 2 really good teams this year.
When it comes to both strength of schedule and results, the 3 best teams are Bama, Georgia, and Texas.

If there were no SEC team in the finals the networks and their advertisers would be very unhappy. Plus Florida is where that mean bully is that beat up poor li’l Gavin.
To: C19fan
Big surprise there. They’d find a way to put Alabama in if they had 5 losses. I think it’s in the TV contract that you can’t have a Bowl Championship without Alabama.
If I were FSU I’d be insurrectioning’ right now. Undefeated and winner of their P5 conference championship and they get hosed, so Saban’s boys don’t have to miss out,

Who would they have left out had it been Clemson in the identical position? Michigan or Texas?

Look at comment # 10. FSU played only 2 teams that wound up in the final rankings. Ho hum. If FSU wants to impress people with an undefeated season they need to play more of the big teams like Bama and Texas did.
