Here is an example of their fantasy world childishness.
Here is the full version of the Libertarian position on immigration.
COMPLETE PLATFORM TEXT
INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS AND CIVIL ORDER
IMMIGRATION:
“”THE ISSUE: We welcome all refugees to our country and condemn the efforts of U.S. officials to create a new “Berlin Wall” which would keep them captive. We condemn the U.S. government’s policy of barring those refugees from our country and preventing Americans from assisting their passage to help them escape tyranny or improve their economic prospects.
THE PRINCIPLE: We hold that human rights should not be denied or abridged on the basis of nationality. Undocumented non-citizens should not be denied the fundamental freedom to labor and to move about unmolested. Furthermore, immigration must not be restricted for reasons of race, religion, political creed, age or sexual preference. We oppose government welfare and resettlement payments to non-citizens just as we oppose government welfare payments to all other persons.
SOLUTIONS: We condemn massive roundups of Hispanic Americans and others by the federal government in its hunt for individuals not possessing required government documents. We strongly oppose all measures that punish employers who hire undocumented workers. Such measures repress free enterprise, harass workers, and systematically discourage employers from hiring Hispanics.
TRANSITIONAL ACTION: We call for the elimination of all restrictions on immigration, the abolition of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the Border Patrol, and a declaration of full amnesty for all people who have entered the country illegally.””
Javier Milei, on his way to becoming the world’s next multi $ billionaire.
He can talk the talk but can he walk the walk
Better math skills?
I tend to agree with you, particularly if you don’t use the word ‘fascism’, although there is a difference between the way that word is used in jargon now generically and it’s actual historic origins. Most authoritarian tyranny in the last century has been the cause of leftists.
The problem with these leftist/globalist types who write these articles is that they think anyone who doesn’t think like them is “far right”, and they think authoritarian power is perfectly justified if they are a true believer in their cause as “helping people” somehow. Anyone else who doesn’t want to use power to help their cause must be “far right”, even libertarians who don’t necessarily have to be left or right at all, just anti-authoritarian.
What it all really comes down to with these people is power. Losing power scares the hell out of them, and they can’t see what they really are in the mirror, because they justify their tyrant goals as beneficial.
He could be good, but he has to realize that libertarian dogmas don’t necessarily fit the world as it is.
Having said that, I know the only long-term successful economic reform in that part of the world was carried about under a military government, that of Augusta Pinochet, in neighboring Chile. It turned that country into the jewel of Latin America. While still characterized by some poverty, it drew illegal immigrants from other dysfunctional economies in the region desperate for work. (Sound familiar?) in recent years the corrosive virus of mass democracy has threatened to overturn a lot of it, but so far the main pillars of the Pinochet reforms AFAIK are still intact.
Argentina is fairly similar to Chile, a fairly well-educated population, a country with significant potential to escape the trap of its stupid infatuation with something-for-nothing economics. But I think Mr, Milei had better strike while the iron is hot. Reform maximally, immediately. The parasite economy is chock full of pressure groups eager to feed. Make Argentines responsible for their own food, housing and retirement, and let Argentines get ahead by providing these things. Let them buy from foreign producers and sell to foreign buyers as they wish, and not as some overeducated minister just knows they should. Let them compete, and let then live free from the completely unnecessary burden of high inflation. Then hope it starts to pay off fast.
You have to institute as much reform as you can, as quickly as you can.
And, do not allow the left to dominate the media.
It is why I left the party.
You cannot defend the country if you have open borders.
He has promised to institute the dollar as legal tender, close the central bank, and close about half the government ministries outright.
“Viva la libertarian carajo!”
Damn spell-correct. “Viva la libertad carajo!”. His slogan.
“We welcome all refugees…” The problem of course is the present assumption that all of them are refugees. And the other problem that a lot of refugees are toxic to a free society.
Retired American snowbirds should consider spending their winters(+ their $$) there.
Southern Hemisphere. Watch the toilet water spin opposite.
It would be great to join an expat group that follows the news for us non-Spanish speakers.
Informative diagram. Useful in the classroom.
I can understand why anyone who isn’t a libertarian might make that mistake. However, many libertarians just want liberty, and to be left alone, particularly by government, but they do think government, or at least civil order, has a place. Not only should you be free to do what you want, so long as you aren’t harming or taking from anyone, but you are also free not to be harmed or stolen from. That is a HUGE difference from anarchy.

I assume you’re a Libertarian. I’m a hardcore Conservative but I’m strongly supportive the principles you’ve mentioned here, especially the right to be left alone. And I despise HOAs for that very reason. Your thoughts?
I’ve never belong to an HOA, so I have an outsider’s view, but the idea of paying people to foist a bunch of rules on you, is comical to me.
Like all things, I think there should be a balance. I can tolerate quote a bit, but if you are leaving junk cars in your front yard, I start to have to deal with my own hypocrisy.
Some people choose to join HOAs. If that’s what they want, and they are getting the services and the uniformity that they seek, more power to them.
People want these enormous wasteful governments cut back.
Here in America, we really should cut government in half.
—> Libertareans are anarchists.
… in the nicest possible way 😊
