Well, I don’t know where they say ‘crans’ for ‘crayons’ but the first time I heard it all I could think of was they were somehow thinking of cranberries and it totally confused me.
Sneakers, Peecans, crayons where I come from.
But I did hear people, not me, say ‘yous guys’. My grandmother called oil ‘earl’and “turlet” for “toilet.”

Privy? Ain’t that where ya go to read the Sears and Roebuck catalog? Or two red corn cobs and a whiten to see if the redens did the job. Ever here’s of a rain barrel to catch water for warshin the ladies hair. Sittin up with the dead was a thing when my great mother died. I was 4 or 5, but mom and my sister and me took our turn. Poor old gal had diabetes, she was blind, had lost both her legs by then and I reckon she was whittled down to where she decided to leave. Late 80’s in years. Guess that ain’t a bad run. Ain’t no one gettin outta here alive.

Actually there are multiple ways to pronounce it. Most people around here say Loo a ville. Here in Merlin (Maryland), we have the river harbor town of Havre de Grace:
HAVE d'grace
HARV dee grah
HAVer de graws
HAVer dee grass

The “city of brotherly love” is known as “Flelfya” around here, and a little north, the “Christmas City” is known as “Bethlum”.
