They are in Raleigh tonight.

Ticket prices were outrageous. $300 to start.

I really wanted to see Keith Carlock on drums, but not for that kind of $$.

It’s pretty hard to pic a fav for me. I go through phases, loved Dr. Wu for years as mine, loved working out to Bodhissattva, didn’t know Only a fool would say that was for John Lennon after he wrote Imagine (I love that they did that one!) right now it’s don’t take me alive.

By the way, all those musicians are from Adelaide, Australia and while they’ve played together before, they never performed this tune before a few days prior to recording. Live, one take, no overdubs, but some masterful mixing by the same fella who sings lead and play keys.

See also the Hindley Street Country Club, also from Adelaide, from whence SIL came. They do Hey Nineteen:

Ticket prices were outrageous. $300 to start.

That knocks me out of the market. I paid $150 4 years ago for the second session of Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas.

Over 8 hours of incredible music. My enduring memory was Clapton doing the guitar solo on Los Lobos' "Made to Break Your Heart." Other memory was seeing Tedeschi Trucks Band for the first time.

Nobody wanted to go with me...eff em...lol.

Not so fast.

Donald Fagen may NOT be performing. I wanted to see him and the Eagles in Austin. Nope.

$300.00? Heh. I checked out ticket prices for the Eagles/Steely Dan Concert in Austin.

$400 gets you nose bleed seats.

$900.00 was the average going price for OK seats.

Got to agree, at leat the singing.

That NYC voice was intolerable, though the music was not too bad.

With a cough, I shake it off
And work around my yellow stripe
Should I hide or eat my pride
Or wait until it’s good and ripe?

You’re more correct. Not a condom.

It is from Burroughs.

Let’s name our band after an instrument of sodomy. Yeah.

Steely Dan is one of my favorites.
Haven’t been to any concerts in a number of years...too expensive, too much of a hassle.

The Royal Scam

And they wandered in
From the city of St. John
Without a dime
Wearing coats that shined
Both red and green
Colors from their sunny island
From their boats of iron
They looked upon the promised land
Where surely life was sweet
On the rising tide
To New York City
Did they ride into the street

See the glory
Of the royal scam

They are hounded down
To the bottom of a bad town
Amid the ruins
Where they learn to fear
An angry race of fallen kings
Their dark companions
While the memory of
Their southern sky was clouded by
A savage winter
Every patron saint
Hung on the wall, shared the room
With twenty sinners

See the glory
Of the royal scam

By the blackened wall
He does it all
He thinks he’s died and gone to heaven
Now the tale is told
By the old man back home
He reads the letter
How they are paid in gold
Just to babble in the back room
All night and waste their time
And they wandered in
From the city of St. John without a dime

See the glory
Of the royal scam

They put out so much great music. Black Friday, Josie, and FM were favorites growing up.

Also, Kid Charlemagne, Haitian Divorce, and Don’t Take Me Alive (The Royal Scam).

Plus, Kings, Midnite Cruiser, Fire in the Hole (Can’t Buy a Thrill), Night by Night...
