I kinda agree. The old men wanted Gary Cooper to build a classic style skyscraper. He wanted to build a soulless, modern International style skyscraper. Cooper’s character was wrong and a pain in the ass.
The female Ghostbusters remake comes to mind.
As for an old-time leftist “classic”, I’d give it to “The Grapes of Wrath.” The government as savior of the peons.
Best Tom Hanks movie: “Bachelor Party.” Great ‘80s fun.
Too bad Butterfly McQueen turned out to be a truly evil person. She was a Satanist.
John Wayne thought “High Noon” was pinko. Refused to be in it.
Great movie. They didn’t give a list of conservative actors but a list of conservative films.

Oddly, I’d consider adding “Apocalypto”.It clearly demonstrates the absolute savagery of the pre-Colombian America’s contrasted against the inherent family values of Jaguar Paw.

That one scene where the Joad family "finally" drives up to a govt.-run farm camp, and there's a zoom shot of the sign reading "Federal Govt.," really brought it home for me.
As though the govt.-appointed commandant of the whole camp couldn't also be a mean, greedy, old bastard exacting kick-backs and such for permission to spend the night!
Besides all the other possibilities for graft and unfairness, today, the camp would probably also have to adhere to "diversity" quotas.

The problem with Generals and Admirals stuck fighting the last war is a persistent one. (Well, now it's combined with wokeness)
“It’s A Wonderful Life” should be on the list.
And the cringe diatribe by Henry Fonda’s character at the end of the film, “Wherever there’s a cop beatin’ up a guy, I’ll be there...” Pure Woke/Marxist bullcrap, 1939-style.
Last night we watched the movie Hair.
The children of the wackos promoted in that movie are now the Progressives ruling America.
The Atlas Shrugged trilogy wasn’t very good, either. The initial installment was probably the best. The last one was very disappointing, I would have liked to have seen Hank Reardan give the Concerto of Deliverance.
