“McDonald’s sued by teen’s mother after attack, claims restaurant failed to... aid in child’s beating”
Why? It’s not their circus, not their monkeys.
You know, I just watched “The Founder” the other day and McDonald’s was just this pristine company that made good food and staffed good people.
Must not pay their headline writers very well.
The McDonald’s employees have no obligation to break up fights or defend aid customers when they get into a fight.
This was an unprovoked attack on a minor.
However you are right they not only did not have any obligation to intervene but the way the system in the area is being run they would have likely ended up being arrested themselves.
Apparently the AG in the city of LA does not regard assault and battery a major crime as they have already reduced the charges to a misdemeanor.
Employees in nearly every enterprise are instructed to refrain from grabbing, blocking or hitting a suspect they see committing a crime in the establishment.
And we “have no expectation of protection from crime” from law enforcement officers as courts have ruled. Officers will interview people and make a record of the events told to them.
If any of us “take the law into our own hands” we will be sued and probably owe money in a settlement along with going to jail.
Let me guess. The. Didn’t do nuffin crowd.
It very much is.
What did the mother do to protect her child? Nothing. She let a 13 year old girl wander the streets by herself. Fast food restaurants do not serve in loco parentis — just bad food.
McDonalds will just close these places. They don’t need this crap.
Yep. I always figured that ended in the late 70s when they did they whole “Mickey D’s” thing, going all urban and stuff. Seemed to have gone down hill about that time.
I consider a McDonald’s near a large city as a no go place.
The USSC says that the police have no duty to protect anyone - but now McDonalds does?!? Tell these tards to screw off.
Franchise owner. Not sure how she closes and leaves.
All these “wildly popular” lawsuits in America sure beat working for a living. Generous jackass juries only encourage them.
I’ve seen supermarkets with better quality and cheaper carry out cafes.
Wegmans especially comes to mind.
