Why? It’s not their circus, not their monkeys.
You know, I just watched “The Founder” the other day and McDonald’s was just this pristine company that made good food and staffed good people.
Must not pay their headline writers very well.
The McDonald’s employees have no obligation to break up fights or defend aid customers when they get into a fight.
Let me guess. The. Didn’t do nuffin crowd.
What did the mother do to protect her child? Nothing. She let a 13 year old girl wander the streets by herself. Fast food restaurants do not serve in loco parentis — just bad food.
McDonalds will just close these places. They don’t need this crap.
Franchise owner. Not sure how she closes and leaves.
All these “wildly popular” lawsuits in America sure beat working for a living. Generous jackass juries only encourage them.
Staff and “managers” are usually just teens, unless there’s some retiree on duty. Other than call the police, what were they supposed to do? If it’s a troubled spot, maybe they should have a cop on the premises, but otherwise...
Isn’t there another franchise that paints “to serve and protect” all over their cars? If you can sue them for failing to protect you how can you sue McDonald’s?
While the lawsuit will go nowhere, I’ll say it’s a sad state of affairs that we live in a country now where no one would come to the aid of a 13-year-old girl being attacked by a nut. People should not have to be afraid of losing their jobs or being arrested for helping out victims.
Her situational awareness should have kicked in
