Bud Light continues to drag down sales for parent company Anheuser-Busch as the world's largest brewer reported a double-digit drop in US revenue last quarter.
Anheuser-Busch InBev reported Tuesday that revenue in the US fell by 13.5 percent between July-September. The figure was based on revenue per 100 liters, a common measure for beer sales.
Sales to US retailers were also down 17 percent, largely due to a drop in Bud Light demand, the company reported.
Bud Light has faced months of protests and consumer anger since its ill-fated partnership with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney in April. The company has seen Bud Light sales decline for months.
US retail dollar sales of Bud Light were down 29 percent in the four weeks ending October 21 compared to the same period a year ago, according to Nielsen data compiled by Bump Williams Consulting.
They are down nearly 19 percent for the year to date.
In August, Modelo Especial officially triumphed over Bud Light as America's best-selling beer and Bud Light volume dropped 26.7 percent.
AB InBev CEO Michel Doukeris said the company is focusing its US marketing on more traditional outlets, like college football and concerts following April's controversy.
The CEO said recent internal polling shows that 40 percent of lapsed Bud Light drinkers say they would consider returning to the brand.

I just read that the parent company’s revenue went up 4%.
As usual someone is lying.
I saw an ad just the other day in which Budweiser claims that they’re giving money to veterans groups.
I think a lot of die-hard fans are having man crushes on other men.
The issue Bud Light is having is the product is trash. People who drink it do so out convenience, not its complex flavor or subtle notes of hops. So these people can move to any other light beer thats out there. And they did. Whats the incentive to go back? There is none.
Yeah, sure! Probably to the "Veterans Ashamed to be Americans, Begging Forgiveness from the North Vietnamese" group, Jane Fonda presiding.
Regards,
AB InBev launched the Bud Light commercial with transvestite Dylan Mulvaney right after a troon murdered three school children and three adults in a grammar school in Tennessee.
The dismissive attitude toward their customers only came later.
On a related note, the government bureaucrats are still withholding the Tranifesto from the troon.
starting to wonder if the “brilliant” moron behind this qwap was working for a competitor behind the scenes. the ab collapse was forseable to the knowing eye but, you know, convincing the board had to be a song and dance worthy of an award...and they bought it hook, line and sinking profits.
Sad to know it’s just the the Bud Light dragging sales. I haven’t bought my decades favorite - Busch - since then, no other AB either. I hoped a lot of people would boycott the entire brand.
bud light now targeting under aged drinkers.
I was traveling on I 95 in Florida the other day and saw a couple of billboards saying bud and Bud Light proudly support our veterans… What a bunch of horse pucky. I lmao
In retirement I work at a wine & spirits store. Bud lite was not a big seller at our store before the Mulvaney fiasco. However, Mexican import Modelo however is flying off our shelves.
I’d love it if I could find Yuengling up here!
It’s not going to help. They successfully rebranded their product as “tranny fluid”. No one sane wants that.
It will take years to re-rebrand their product, and they’ll probably never get the stench off of it.
“Make it clear they have fired the idiot that approved this marketing.”
They need to fire every senior US executive—all of them.
Actions speak louder than words.
Buried in their SEC 6-K report from Oct 31, under "Profit from Operations ", their North America profit is down 27.9%, dragging their global profits down 2.7%
They don’t seem too bothered by all of this. If they were, they would have apologized to their loyal customers.
In my golf league, the last guy that pulled a Bud Light out of his bag was heckled unmercifully, he switched to another brand, like all other Bud Light drinkers.
