STAY TOGETHER!
Good policy.
You never know where those hands have been lol. Best to not even think about it!
Spunky....I was just going to post and ask you to check in. Good to see you early (even though it’s VERY early for you), but was thinking about your oxygen.
Thanks for breakfast, lysie, but I think I’ll stick with soda crackers and ginger ale for a little while. Exit can have my share.
Yum!
I wish I was having that for breakfast, while touring Scotland on a train!
Pipe dreams!
“I don’t buy stuff unless it’s sealed”
Are you able to buy all produce already sealed? I can’t. And I see all kinds of people handling veggies. (I do it myself just to see what the other side of a pepper, etc., looks like.)
When I get home, I wash the heck out stuff with Dawn. Even if stuff is sealed, I still wash it. You never know how conditions are at the packing plants.
A close friend of mine was a dietitian had been Director of some state’s department dealing with food. She also washed everything with Dawn.
It does sound like God worked everything out for good, Jemian. Lots of good out of the trip, and congrats on being cancer-free for five years!
There definitely are people to keep at arm’s length. We have a number of them in our extended family. We keep them very well extended....so far that we stay away.
That personality that feels compelled to help whenever there is a problem is interesting. My daughter has been dealing with that. It’s a bit of a compulsion. When someone has a problem, she feels like she’s got to do something to either fix the problem, or make the person feel better.
It’s a very unselfish and sweet personality trait, but sometimes I have to talk her out of her taking on someone else’s issues - she has a hard time letting God take over.
Has anyone considered that it’s part of OCD? She doesn’t have the hand-washing, door-locking type, but does feel like the onus is on her if someone has a problem. I think it’s a certain type of OCD. Hear a problem....must act....must fix problem now. That’s her.
Nice to see you Guenevere!
Hi MM....
I have heard that Dawn is good for washing fruits and veggies as well. They also used to make a spray that you could spray everything down and rinse it off. I just looked it up on Amazon....fruit and veggie wash spray.....there’s a few of them. Dawn is cheaper lol.
And there’s a new Dawn product that is a spray. We use that.

Good morning to you, lysie!
All I see is breakfast goodness!
Thank you!
Ocer here, we soak all our fruits and veggies for twenty minutes in a light solution of di-hydrogen oxide and potassium permanganate.
Well that sounds relaxing, but pretty scary since you know the cause.
Ah yes, I’ve seen that. So is it just watered down Dawn? That would be perfect!
Lol exit - ain’t that the truth!
“So is it just watered down Dawn?”
I’m not sure, but I think the formula is a little different. We’ve always diluted Dawn anyhow; it’s so highly concentrated.
It is. I love Dawn but I find now if I use any dish soap other than the “gentle” ones, my hands get red and burning and itching and it takes forever to clear. I hate wearing gloves, so I use the really mild dish soap. The kind that you squirt in 1/3 of the bottle for each sink-full, and you get about 17 bubbles, if you’re lucky.
I may try the blue Dawn again....I miss it.
Morning all. I’m off later to hearing aid appt! 👍👍👍
Jemian and Natalie share this “fix/it ~~ problem solver” trait with President Trump. It’s not a bad thing but often not well received by parties involved
Good news. As our two thread hostesses have left us, replacement was needed and has been found! Our mystery person will take over the Jan-Feb new thread. Might be having some top flight help (not me)
Some new ideas n more frequent pings than once every two months. Not big obtrusive posts but just a reminder of “here we are”
Question is(your input needed here)
Dec 28/30 or Jan 1/3
I think we should have same thread for both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day…and think a new thread for both is good
So my vote is new thread Dec 28/30 time frame
Everyone chip in if you have a preference or comment
You are right - sometimes the fix-it problem solving is not well received, especially if it’s me she’s trying to fix lol.
Anytime is fine for me as far as the new thread goes. It would be nice to have a new thread to ring in the New Year. Unless we’re all out partying.
Between you and Jemian, I think there’s a sleep-a-thon been going on. Sure would like to be a part of that!
“We’ve always diluted Dawn anyhow; it’s so highly concentrated.”
I never thought about doing that! I’ve just bought the cheap stuff because when I use the soap dispenser I get a lot out. The Dawn takes forever to wash off.
I’m with you on doing it early. I’m glad you thought about it, it wouldn’t even occur to me to have a New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day together.
Good luck at your hearing aid appointment! Cooper and I are off to get new tires. That flat I got at all these was a warning I think, those tires are 7 years old.
