Cats have scent glands in their cheeks. When they rub their cheeks on you, they transfer their scent onto you, marking you as theirs.

Found a really neat article about a book called
“Abandoned Ireland.”
It is full of great pictures of abandoned castles and villages, shipwrecks and so on.

yeah covid not that long ago. At least one of those silly tests were positive. I actually think I feel worse now. I hate coughing, it interrupts things, like eating or sleeping. and bothers the animals

Those are beautiful, Ms.B. That bath house reminded me of the Vanderbilt swimming pool, unfortunately. lol
The castles are so intriguing. Imagine what they looked like, how the people lived, etc.
I used to have a customer who owned a large millwork plant in Toronto. Very fast-paced, cutthroat business. He was a young man in Ireland, and his parents had a nice farm. When his parents could no longer manage it (or they passed away) it was left to his sister and him. He couldn’t stand it. Couldn’t wait to get away. So he left her there taking care of the farm and came to the rat race in Toronto. He did well, makes a fortune, has all the toys, etc. We were having a friendly conversation one day and he told me since he was about 55, he realized he gave up a lot, just to chase money and success.
Now, every year for his 3 week vacation, he goes back to the farm and helps his sister with upkeep, repairs, etc. He loves it. Wishes he never left. Sometimes the biggest decisions in life have to be made at a time when we don’t have the necessary knowledge to make them. It’s too bad.
After I saw a castle with a murder window, I had to keep reading to find it. Sounds like they’re having a lot of rural abandonment there also. it’s a shame, what beautiful countryside and buildings. and the castles! the idea of something built in the 13th century boggles my mind.
