They're at it again. Ken Paxton's political enemies never sleep.
The Texas attorney general, who is a dominant force in the Texas GOP, is set to stand trial on April 15, this time on state charges, following an eight-year delay since his indictment. This is a different case from the one he was aquitted for during his impeachment in the Texas Senate several weeks ago.
These charges stem from those false accusations dating back to 2011 that he solicited investors for a McKinney technology company without disclosing that he was being paid to promote its stock. Despite these charges and the fact that the liberal media and his political foes are seeking to taint his reputation, Paxton has robustly maintained his innocence. This stance has been supported by many who see this trial as nothing but a politically motivated witch hunt.
Paxton has been doing everything possible to protect Texas since he became the Texas attorney general in January 2015. AG Paxton, like President Trump, is a fighter.
As he said at the time:
“We stand on the side of right, and we will never stop fighting to protect this state and the people who proudly call it home.”
Paxton's legal journey has been tumultuous, marked by delays and disputes. One of these disputes is the issue of special prosecutors' pay, which has yet to be settled.
Paxton's legal team has suggested that the special prosecutors are primarily interested in their pay, not in pursuing justice. His legal team has fervently challenged the $300 hourly rate allotted to these prosecutors, contending that it deviates from the confines of the law. This focus on monetary gain over the pursuit of justice is troubling in this case.
These ongoing disputes, coupled with the fact that Paxton has already been acquitted of corruption...

They are giving him the “Trump Treatment”.
They are doing to him what they did to Sarah Palin.
Isn’t it about time for red states to go after democrats in the same manner?
They target one guy and go after him repeatedly until stupid people start up with their whine about "no smoke with out fire" and "Not ALL democrat investigations are witch hunts". Actually the really stupid ones start with that out the gate.
Eventually the guy gets tired of it and goes off and the democrats cheer and mark another one off their list knowing that now they have made good people even more reluctant to seek office which leaves their field wide open.
They’re pissed at Paxton because he got a federal judge, yesterday, to STOP the feds from tearing apart the border barriers that Texas has put up.
We live in a VERY SICK country...
That would require the GOP to actually do something, but they are a part of the scam. The country clubbers don't like the uppity conservatives in the party and will do everything they can to make sure conservatives have no power.
All these criminal enemies should be arrested for treason, given a no-bail internment, then given a trial date in 2055.
“...because he got a federal judge, yesterday, to STOP the feds from tearing apart the border barriers that Texas has put up”
something that would appear to be “terrorism” ....
This has been going on since Nixon.
They did the same thing to Reagan.
Houston juries are smart and will see right through the State of Texas case against Ken Paxton.
He needs to go after Cornyn’s seat. He’d be safe for 6 years. No position to fight back on his tormentors. That’s the problem. Gov. perhaps?
Isn’t it about time that conservatives become more proficient than the communists with Lawfare?
He nailed the border patrol yesterday by getting a judge to order them to stop cutting and removing concertina wire at the Texas border. No more “fist bumps” with the illegals while destroying property belonging to the State of Texas.
Problem is that some of the people behind this are Bush Republicans.
