I can't even imagine what this is like!
A woman in Atlanta, Georgia, was on vacation when she got a phone call from a neighbor asking if she was having her home demolished while she was away, because it was BEING DEMOLISHED.

The dude tried to tell the neighbor to leave him alone, not to get in his way, and when a family member came over and asked for proof the guy realized he had come to the wrong address entirely.
Dude bulldozed the wrong house! Then he just drove off like nothing happened!
Thank goodness no one was living there at the time.
Old boys just saw a boarded-up house and said, "That must be the one!"
"It's been boarded up about 15 years, and we keep it boarded, covered, grass cut, and the yard is clean," she said. "The taxes are paid and everything is up on it."
Hodgson said she's filed a report with police and has talked with lawyers but that they remain in limbo so far.
"We're still in this process of figuring out what to do," she said. "We keep pressing in different directions to see if something is going to happen."
She can't even get a call back from the company that tore her house down!
If I am this flabbergasted and frustrated, I can't even imagine how the homeowner feels!
Which is why the word “house” was used rather then the word “home”.
By not checking to see where the heck they were.
Because that is what demo companies do. They just drive down streets and knock down houses that do not meet their standards.
The only reason the human race has survived this long is because of simple mass procreation. There’s way too many stupid people out there. It’s just a sheer numbers game.
And I work with some very educated people....but they don't know SHIT. About what is going on in the world..and our country.

My daughter came home from work one day to find her house partially painted. No idea who did it. We theorized that because there is an East and West of her street with the same number the painters when to the wrong one and discovered their error partway through. And being dipsticks, left without leaving a note taking responsibility. Fortunately it was the same color and she just finished the street facing side and all was ok. But they should have come back and offered to finish the job on their nickel (what I would have done). Yeah, welcome to the real world. No one takes responsibility for their actions.

Nope. It was vacant and boarded up.
I’ve done home demos in my time. All utilities must be disconnected and I have to have written confirmation in my possession. Septic tanks must be pumped out, bottoms knocked out, and the backfilled with clean fill. It was very time consuming.
