EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State issued an apology Saturday night after an image of Adolf Hitler was displayed on the videoboard before the Spartans' home game against Michigan.
The image appeared as part of a trivia question about Hitler's place of birth.
(snip)
"MSU will not be using the third-party source going forward and will implement stronger screening and approval procedures for all videoboard content in the future."

I’m sure the Hamas supporters there cheered when they saw the image.
Seems like it was just a trivia question and not some nazi propaganda.
most probably just figured they were acknowledging alumni./s
People are too frickin’ sensitive.
Hitler was a historical figure. You can question what they are doing putting trivia questions on a video board in the first place, but it’s not as if it’s an endorsement of Hitler in any form.
It was probably the Austrians who were offended, because they are still trying to convince the world that Beethoven was Austrian and Hitler was German.
Symbol-minded simpletons like football too.
True. Probably from YouTube. No apology necessary. The woke being woke.
Just as in public speaking, gotta know your audience. People are at the game to forget all about the worlds problems and just enjoy football. If you’re going to play a trivia game, how about sports trivia ? . The person who approved this video needs to be cut loose because they do not know their customers.
How about showing The Constitution, might be the first time most of those people actually got to read what it says.
All this did was point out where Hitler was born.
Most people probably would have said “Germany”.
Sounds like nobody could get the right answer to that question. All most college kiddies know about Hitler is that they think he was a MAGA Republican.
Michigan State’s not having a very good year, are they?
Yep.
We don’t even talk about the Constitution here on FR anymore. Every other thread is Russia/Ukraine, or Israel/Palestinians.
Or maybe the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence. But that would get a visit from the Feds and members of the DC bunch clamoring for shutting down the university.
“ Seems like it was just a trivia question and not some nazi propaganda.”
Probably not the best idea to have Hitlers place of birth as a trivia question .
In any setting .
A video board at a college football game for sure not appropriate
They’re not necessarily unrelated. By flooding the zone with topics 4000 miles away, it avouds the uncomfortable discussion of what is happening in our own country.
Now about those MSU uniforms...wtf?
