We don’t even talk about the Constitution here on FR anymore. Every other thread is Russia/Ukraine, or Israel/Palestinians.
They’re not necessarily unrelated. By flooding the zone with topics 4000 miles away, it avouds the uncomfortable discussion of what is happening in our own country.
That's because most people (whether or not they are conscious of it) understand that the Constitution is deader that a doornail.
All three branches of the State as imagined by the Founders are failing at the same time, and the system is incapable of righting itself.
Pretty soon, the People are going to have to do some serious altering and abolishing, as in, "it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
Are the People safe? Are the people happy?
