"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.

My husband and I are flying into DC for a wedding tomorrow. The wedding, hotel etc is downtown. Wedding is actually at MLK Library. We are planning to ride Metro from Dulles to hotel. Any suggestions for sites, coffee shops or safety? We have until around 3pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday to do tourist stuff. I know we want to see Arlington. Hotel is a few blocks from White House.

I have a very close family member who works for Lewiston PD. He went to high school with the shooter. The shooter is a veteran and fire arms instructor who has been and is currently in a horrible mental health crisis.
THIS IS NOT ORGANIZED TERRORISM NOR IS IT A POLITICAL ISSUE. THIS IS NOT PART OF A PLAN OR GAME. THE SHOOTER IS MENTALLY ILL.
The shooter was committed into the hospital for being a danger to himself and others (hearing voices) and was released after two weeks. It has been since his release that these horrible shootings have occurred.
THIS IS AN ISSUE OF A NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS MOST IMPORTANTLY THE LACK OF MENTAL HEALTH FACILITIES FOR THE MENTALLY ILL WHO ARE A DANGER TO THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE.

The man hit so many places so quickly that citizens began to believe that it was simultaneous organized hits. It was not. He shot up very familar places in quick succession. Most of the known victims were adult men. The information on the bowling alley shooting has not been released (even to police officers on the job). It was youth night at the bowling alley. Many family members have not been informed of deaths. The schools and businesses have been shut down and people told to stay home. There is concern he could be in Mass by now but truth be told, if he had another car he could be anywhere.
One of the victims was a retired PD who was not carrying. Had he a weapon, he could have saved so many people.

I have returned to the old and somewhat obsolescent break-action "springers" that require one open-and-shut action to place a spring & piston under compression; when the trigger is pulled, it compresses a small amount of air in a relatively short chamber. They are relatively low in power compared to most PCPs, and as the springs get heavier (for more power), they then become harder to cock, "bounce" more when the spring is released, and have a sort of "reverse recoil" as part of the operating cycle. They are much more sensitive to variation and ask a good deal of the shooter.
There are some that are pumped up by one or more strokes of a built-in air pump, and ones that take CO2 cartridges, etc. Chooing one requires a person to really sit down and decide what power and accuracy level is needed for their intended use(s), how much they can afford, and - not least importantly - how much care and dedication. they are willing to put into them.
