Better pay up. There’s probably interest accruing.

Ridiculous...
In that kind of situation. The host should have made absolutely clear upfront. We are doing a special thing and it will be $X per person. Please rsvp.
But to invite somebody to dinner, then blind side them with a bill? Extremely poor taste.

Sorry lady, see there’s this guy occupying the Oval office who shouldn’t be. It’s what you New Yorkers voted for, sort of like voting to have someone burn your money.

I own, on VHS, a documentary about Frank Lloyd Wright. One of the owners of one of his designs said that he would sometimes drop by with a knick knack of some sort and say he thought it would look really good on the mantle or some such. They thought that was really nice of him. But then they would get a bill for it in the mail. 🤣

Seems like the same scam used by windshield-washing bums.

Of just get rid of an old friend. That leaves room for a new friend, but gives you a chance to chose wisely next time. 🙂

Absolutely unacceptable. An invitation is an invitation.
No longer a friend. Would not invite to my home. Ciao.

Send a bill.

“Typical Northeast US burb sheep mentality.”
I am a New York burb inhabitant.
I don’t know anybody who would do this.
OTOH, I am a conservative, and I don’t hang with libs.
To: nickcarraway
Nothing. It’s probably not true.
