The couple has donated to crises in the past.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are donating to yet another cause.
The couple donated $1 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Friday “to help children in Israel and Gaza,” a source confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. They have four children and are adamant about sending financial aid to causes that are important to them.
In the past, Lively and Reynolds matched up to $1 million in donations that were sent to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees after Russia invaded Ukraine, as well as $500,000 to Indigenous-focused safe water charity Water First Education & Training Inc. They also donated another $1 million split between Feeding America and Food Banks Canada, following the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
David Ellison's Skydance Media Donates $1M to Support Humanitarian Relief Amid Israel Crisis More recently, they donated $1 million to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s financial assistance program for performers facing economic hardship as the actors strike continues.
On Oct. 7, the day of the Hamas terrorist attacks, the ICRC sent a truck of medical supplies to a hospital in Gaza, including body bags and stretchers. The organization is assessing the damage to sewage and water treatments, and trying to locate and gain access to the people who are being held hostage in order to establish contact with their families and medically treat them, per its website.
Lively and Reynolds are the first celebrities to publicly provide financial aid to Israel and Gaza as the Israel-Hamas War rages on and the death toll continues to climb. On Saturday morning, Israel’s military announced it was preparing for the “next stages of the war” against Hamas, potentially including “strikes from the air, sea and land” and “significant ground operations,” according to CNN.
Several celebrities have spoken out in support of the innocent victims of the war, including Jennifer Garner, Adam Sandler, Yara Shahidi, Kerry Washington and Martha Stewart.
Well intentioned but the ‘support for children in Gaza’ will get funneled elsewhere
Who?
“… the ‘support for children in Gaza’ will get funneled elsewhere”
****************************************************
Much of it will be…for sure.
Palestinians raise their children to be suicide bombers. They don't care about their support. The money will be used for weapons.
Ha! Most of the $ will be eaten up by the Red Cross itself
“sent to the United Nations “
Well might as well piss in a bucket with a hole.
The Deadpool guy. Also the owner of Mint mobile.
The red cross spends most of their donations on administration. I would never give them a cent.
Deadpool? LOL! We are SOOOOO out of touch. Plus, my contemptometer concerning “celebs” has been redlined for many years. 😂👍
🙏🇮🇱👍
I have no idea who these people are, but I guess they are not aware that their donation will help very few individuals who actually need it.
Yep.
None of it is going to go to Israel.
Hamas says Thank You to Hollywood...again
how about some free birth control too.
Good for them but they picked the wrong charity.
One can only do what they can do. We should applaud the effort, at least.
The children of Gaza will get new bomb vests.
Saw an ad for it. Which one is ryan? 😂😂😂😂😂. I mean if you look at the top of the cover the names over their heads. 👍
🙏🇮🇱👍
I keep thinking they were married for a few minutes in real life, but that was Scarlett Johansson.
Ryan Reynolds has become quite the businessman.
He has sold Mint Mobile and his Gin Company for big bucks. Wrexham is much more valuable now than when he took over.
He has a marketing company that put together the viral State Farm/Donna Kelce promo within a couple of days needing approval from State Farm, Jake, Taylor Swift, and the Kelces.
He comes across as a goofball..and that is his secret to success.
