Dowling was wearing the same clothes as the suspect in the video when police executed a search warrant.
On Thursday, the man suspected of brutally murdering 32-year-old Brooklyn activist Ryan Carson was apprehended by police and taken into custody.
Brian Dowling, 18, allegedly stabbed Carson to death while he and his girlfriend were waiting for the bus.
According to the New York Post, after Dowling was named as a suspect, police executed a search warrant at a home on Lafayette Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard, near where the beloved activist was killed.
When authorities arrived, they discovered Dowling in the home wearing the same clothing as the man in footage of the incident. They also recovered a knife, though it has not been determined whether it was the murder weapon.
