Start a school report this way — “Apes are aquatic mammals ...” and see what the teacher thinks.

Never heard of Elaine Morgan but Desmond Morris discussed this back in the 60s.

Any good biologist would have said, “Marine mammals,” not aquatic mammals.

Being aquatic is the reason we’re mostly hairless, according to some.

Viewed as a new version of evolution, it doesn’t really work. Viewed as a theory of human adaptation, it is the best theory that has ever been put forward,Adaptation is evolution.

Adaptation is MICRO-evolution, which is believable. The theory of evolution is about MACRO-evolution, which is not believable.

So according to this fairy tale, humans came from Ganymede.
Well, hey, Kal-El came from Krypton.
And Marvin came from Mars.

Any good biologist would have said, “Marine mammals,” not aquatic mammals. The authoress deliberately chose the word "aquatic."
Maybe "littoral" would have been even more apt.

Having a sense of smell no better than humans possess would be fatal for any land prey animal. Humans actually have a great sense of smell. We just do not use it that much.
That is why Neanderthals were limited to thrusting spears while early humans had atlatls and javelins.
Nope.
