There was a very high terror alert in Britain today. They are saying they’ve heard more “chatter” than ever before. I dread to think how jihad will go in America....it will be a case of kill them before they kill you.
With so many the attacks will be everywhere. And even if your local area is not attacked, when they take out electrical grids, water plants, airports, etc, there won’t be any place that isn’t incapacitated.
Prep Everyone! At least have a few days water and food handy. Flashlights. And some way to protect yourself!!
hat tip to Judy and Spunky for today’s topic.
Sorry I didn’t prepare anything more formal or researched. This is kind of an extension of the last topic. Which I don’t think we can say enough about.
More than a few days worth.
Don’t forget salt in prepper supplies. It is critical for survival and there aren’t many places in the US where it can be easily gotten.
I save the glass pasta sauce jars since they have a built in gasket. While I would never use them for canning, they are great for storing herbs and salt. They are hermetically sealed and the salt has never caked up so they obviously keep moisture out.
March 10th is a Ramadan or something
and gleaned it’s gonna be a Doozy!
Get prayer rugs an ‘Check your ZERO!’
I don’t do a lot of prepping but I do have a month or two of canned meats, chicken broth, tomatoe sauce, beans, and some pasta.
What I need to know is how do I make sure tap water will be good to drink if kept for several months. I have saved the gallon jugs my distilled water for my C-Pap machine thinking I can now put tap water in them.
Is it wrong to kinda want the world to end so I can justify eating my stash of high-carb foods? Alone? By candlelight? ;)
JUST KIDDING! JUST KIDDING! I do miss carbs, though. :(
I’m currently reading ‘Crimson Phoenix’ by John Gilstrap and it is freaking me the heck OUT!
End of World Nuclear strikes came in from all angles; millions dead world-wide and a handful of scrappy Preppers (led by a WOMAN, of course!) are starting ‘civilization’ all over again. And despite her best efforts, it’s not going all that well!
The one FLAW in the Author’s premise? He saved Congress! All of them! Ugh! They’re all holed up in a FANCY HOTEL in the Virginia outskirts with food, water, showers, toilets, communications, big screen TVs, computers...you name it! Each was ‘escorted’ there by the US Military...in Limos!
BUT - the Congress Critters ARE starting to eat one another alive anyway, with all of the ‘creature comforts’ still provided, so there’s that. *SMIRK*
LEADERSHIP will be the key for any of us to survive. Don’t look to Congress for THAT!
A few ideas.
A neighborhood watch group, consisting of trustworthy people, could be helpful. A detailed book about this: “A Failure of Civility”, which is hard to get now but I saw a link posted a while ago. Plans of how to work with neighbors in case of attacks locally, surveillance and many defense measures are described. If need be road blocks could be improvised to keep strangers out of neighborhoods or streets.
Carrying firearms according to state statutes (my state has good laws) is very important, and knowing how to use them and being psychologically prepared as well. Having communication plans in case of any infrastructure being down or spotty. Having code phrases or words to use with family members and neighborhood groups, especially useful if there is some active attack happening.
Having a family plan so that every family member knows what to do in case of bad things happening.
Don't know how valid this report is but I wouldn't doubt that the WEF (and other leftists) would propose something this idiotic.
After all - providing your own food makes you independent of the central government so ultimately they would consider it a subversive act.

You can also make sure your over the counter meds and first aid supplies are fresh.
You can actually get years past the expiration dates on most meds. A few, not, like thyroid meds and I hear Penicillin can go bad and You DON’T want to take that when it does.
What the Slay article fails to mention is that the *study* was deeply biased and designed to make home gardens look bad.
Thankfully I only take one prescription.
Thanks, CB.
There’s still OTC’s like Advil, Motrin, supplements, wound care, ointments etc.
You might want to consider a Berkey or similar filter… I have filtered creek water and rainwater with it and both were fine. I still boil it, just to be safe.
No doubt.
We all know that "Progressives" do biased studies to reach preconceived conclusions validating their agenda as opposed to doing unbiased studies that document actual facts.
What they included were the total sum cost of the house on the property, from cutting down the trees for lumber and other raw materials costs, to construction, use for the life of the house, and it’s demolition and disposal at the end.
Not even considering that garden or not, the house was there anyways.
Nor did they mention that if the yard space wasn’t being used for a vegetable garden, it would be either landscaped or lawn and both those need to be maintained and honestly, as far as I can see, do more harm to the environment with the number of pesticides and herbicides people use to keep their lawn looking picture perfect.
My garden is maintained mostly with compost and manure, and wood chips, which would exist and decompose regardless of whether they did it in a veggie garden or somewhere else.
The *study* was dishonest beginning to end.
Here is a breakdown of the study.
It’s just over 7 minutes and worth the watch.

Good informative posts - Thanks
Thank you. I’ve been pinged to that info about 50x so far this week. Forewarned is Forearmed! :)
I’m not letting them inside my head. I’m gonna keep on keepin’ on!
Pepper seedlings are started for the upcoming season. Tomato seedlings get started next week. Tomorrow I am starting Lettuces and Spinach and my beloved Kale.
I’d be using my (unheated) greenhouse right now, since we’ve had such a mild (to say the least!) Winter, but it’s hitting 100 degrees in there each day already and that’s too hot for most things ANY time of the year.
Loving this ‘Global Warming’ though. :)
