Watch out for those time doorways!
I did take note that six comments in a row were made -- 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, and 50.
I, for having responded to some comments here as well, might be said to be overly involved in this particular thread, but I try to cite references and often offer URLs and such rather than "look it up" or make assertions without additional documentation.
It seems to me a "forum" which is free can indeed feature disagreements.
Wouldn't have been a WWII had the U.S. not entered WWI.
Would the invasion of Taiwan or Japan be one? How about South Korea?
All three of these nations have strong militaries and can easily create an alliance to stop China.
Only if we were attacked through no provocation on our side, then of course we should retaliate.
I'm against nation-building and foreign interventionism.
The ‘wit’ IS in the application:
Baby Orc sung to the tune of Baby Shark:
“BABY ORC! oo doo doo, doo doo doo doo doo. BABY Orc, doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo doo. BABY ORC, doo doo doo, doo doo doo doo doo.”
“Not a fan of banning, however when the majority of some posters is just slander, and pointless memes”
I agree. Banning an individual’s voice because one does not like it is not a conservative’s stance.
As I have stated before:
“I respect freedom of thought and expression of each person to hold their own opinion even if differing from mine. Therefore, all Freepers also are entitled to hold their own viewpoint as well. Absolutely, it is not my intention nor responsibility to “change” or form opinions for someone else.”
Even Worldtraveler once upon a time in Comment #62 states “seems to me a “forum” which is free can indeed feature disagreements.
https://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/4179928/posts?page=62#62
Also, Comment #60 stating: “is labeled with the kinds of vocabulary which would never describe but always insult a conservative.”
THAT is the point:
However, the point being in this discussion is NOT the intolerance of a differing opinion: “UMCRevMom is looking good in that pic!; “She got her hair done. LOL”; “Hey Mum;” “Rev Mom is a CIA shrill. Spit.” And, this is from just this thread!
The personalized demeaning commenting happened with so much frequency Mr. Robinson was required to re-post a commenting reminder:
“Please knock-off the abusive posts, NAME-CALLING, TAUNTING, trolling, stalking, flame-baiting, INSULTS, religious insults, flames, threats, ill-wishes, HARRASSING & ANNOYING posts, unwanted posts & FReepmail, etc, etc, etc
https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4166577/posts.
And as well as stated by Worldtraveler once upon a time in Comment# 60: “I try to cite references and often offer URLs and such rather than “look it up” or make assertions without additional documentation.”
https://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/4179928/posts?page=60#60
It was clarified:

You are complete in denial as I see it.

4 Sep: Russians Furious! Ukrainians Launch 3 Strike on Crimea Bridges in 1 Night | Ukraine War

Ukrainian forces are now reaching Russia’s network of fortified defense lines in southern Ukraine and are finally breaking through 2 Russian defense lines. Kiev’s troops are forced to advance through vast minefields under artillery fire. The land corridor is less than 100 miles wide at some points. Ukrainian troops do not have to advance all the way to the coast of the Sea of Azov to make life difficult for Russian forces.
Liberating settlements such as Tokmak and Melitopol, which serve as logistical hubs, will also greatly weaken Russia’s defenses in the region, if the Ukrainians can reach them.
The situation is further complicated for Russian troops by the dual-purpose upgraded conventional ammunition fired from the 155 mm tube currently used by Ukrainian artillery.
Expanding Western support to include longer-range cluster munitions fired from NATO-made M270 multiple launch rocket systems and the American M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System “would really make a big difference. This would eliminate Russian artillery very quickly. Ukrainian troops continue a sharp advance to the south that could be crucial in shaping victory.
The ground part of the Ukrainian counter-offensive is clearly aimed at cutting off the so-called ‘land bridge’ by occupation or fire. This would also make it very difficult for any convoy to bring troops, ammunition or other supplies across the so-called land bridge. Accordingly, Crimea remains a major prize in Ukraine’s efforts to defeat Russia’s full-scale occupation of the country.
Today, Ukrainian forces again made a sharp breakthrough to realize this ultimate goal. On Friday evening, September 1, there were again explosions in the Kerch Bridge area of Crimea. The Russian Federation announced a new attack carried out by two allegedly intercepted seaplanes. Three drones were later counted. The explosions near the Crimean bridge were confirmed by monitoring channels.
Later, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that Ukraine had tried to hit the causeway with a semi-submersible unmanned boat around 23.15 hours. It was allegedly discovered and destroyed in the waters of the Black Sea. As the media noted, the second boat managed to escape. The General Staff reported that the movement of motor vehicles over the Crimean Bridge was temporarily blocked.
Later, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that the second naval drone again tried to hit the Crimean Bridge at 02.10 on September 2. It was also allegedly destroyed. Within minutes, Shoigu announced the third semi-submersible unmanned boat, which was allegedly destroyed. The occupiers also stopped traffic on the Crimean bridge. According to Russian media reports, it was restored at 03:15. It was also reported that the bridge was not damaged in the attacks. Nevertheless, the Russians are in no hurry to restart traffic, the road has already been closed for about a day.
Meanwhile, three Russian aircraft, including a plane and two helicopters, were engaged in a pursuit of a Ukrainian drone in the western region of Crimea near Cape Tarkhankut.
Unfortunately for Russians, there was no way to shoot down the Ukrainian UAV even 3 advanced Combat aircrafts. This was reported in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the video of the incident was published.
The footage shows a Ukrainian UAV flying in the area of Cape Tarkhankut being chased by two combat helicopters and an airplane. Despite the continuous fire, the Ukrainian drone left the “battlefield” unharmed and successfully returned to the base.
“Some hands are crooked...” commented the drone operator.
It has been observed that Ukrainian intelligence drones are increasingly escaping unhurt not just after coming into contact with enemy air defense, but also after coming into direct contact with enemy aircraft.
It is important to keep in mind that the Russian occupants of Crimea made the decision to beef up their fortifications in response to the attacks on the bridge there. According to the occupants, this was accomplished by erecting barriers in order to prevent drones from being used by the Ukrainian navy. According to GUR, the operation of Ukrainian drones will become marginally more challenging as a result of these impediments, but it will not be rendered impossible as a result of them.
It is significant for the Kremlin not only as a symbol of the occupation of Crimea, but also as a vitally important component of the logistical support of the occupying forces in mainland Ukraine, particularly in the Kherson region and Zaporizhia.
Meanwhile........ the Russian economy continues to wither and the Ruble continues to lose value.
Curating is occurring…LOL
“Meanwhile........ the Russian economy continues to wither and the Ruble continues to lose value.”
Truth.
"She" is consistently rhetorical in assertions, and often uninformed. Take the " 'Meanwhile........ the Russian economy continues to wither and the Ruble continues to lose value.' Truth."
A look to the ten year history is very much in order, to place things in a longer perspective.

Additionally, the exchange rate proves little when one cannot exchange USD for rubles, anyway. So "true" is often not quite true.

The IMF data sets caused a flap. TIME asked, "Why Is the IMF Pushing Putin's Economic Propaganda?" Apr 11, 2023. And Barrons wrote, "IMF Raises Russian Growth Forecast On Deficit-fueled Government Spending," April 11, 2023.
Predicting the future is the stuff of oracles and pundits and dat-crunchers who have real access and actuarial prowess. I hesitate to predict the future, hesitate to declare who the "officially" non-NATO war between Ukraine and Russia will turn out. Too many unknowns, as it seems.
But here is a fact which is true. This daily thread promotes clicks to monetized "content created" channels. True.
Lol!!
Fair, though I do t entirely agree. National interests not limited to free trade attainment resources, but one I would support. IE IRAN controlling all Middle East oil, but a questionso if we did attack or did something that was a predicate to be attacked, then your stance would be we should surrender inference is we were in the wrong?
Lol not common enough as I did not know
Thanks for the clear
That is quite a leap about ww2, so is you point that Germany would have taken France thus no ww2?
Interesting
Apparently you also don’t care what Jim says either
Regurgitating posts about “Ukraine winning” is not slander and you are welcome not to read them
Had no idea what the sleestak was except for Star Trek, was informed and now I know
Still not much of point to the pic, as far as furthering discussion or information
But hey you so you
You mean like this?
“We are conservatives. Be respectful to your debate adversary (fellow FReeper). For example, do not accuse them of being a “Putinista”, “comrade”, “murderer”, “baby-killer”, etc, just because he may have a difference of opinion whether or not the US government should be involved in a controversial foreign war where we were not attacked.”
And here, take a gander at this:
“Finally, if someone says STOP, then STOP! If someone asks you to take them off your ping list, then take them off! If someone asks you to stop posting to them, the adult and polite thing to do is to accommodate them.”
I’ll go ahead and invoke this - stop posting to me. That makes three of you now. Don’t post to me anymore. Any conversation with you is counterproductive, an exercise in futility and a waste of my time.
Thanks!
