The amount of interest your kids and grandkids will be paying on the debt will be massive. It will help to continually cripple the economy, which could very well be the goal. Politicians don’t give a moment’s thought to the debt. They don’t get votes by thinking of the debt. They get votes by greasing the right palms with taxpayer money.....or borrowed money. Shameful.

Judy it will be beyond crippling the economy way before our grandkids are working. The government can just default, but usually they just print money, which the people end up paying for in inflation/hyperinflation.
I’ve always believed anyone that wants to run for office should pass an intensive economics test to qualify. And that goes for anyone working in government whose jobs entails financial decisions. AND NO UNPROVEN THEORIES, LIKE MODERN MONETARY THEORY.
Even then, you have the people that have an education in economics but put politics ahead of it, like Janet Yellen. She should just be put in jail.

It went on for several more minutes like that, with Welker repeatedly trying to close the matter by declaring the lies “debunked” and Trump continuing to insist that the debunkings were, in fact, the lies. Viewers of the program only saw a fraction of these exchanges.

When I was a wee sprite a Hershey bar cost 5¢ (it went up to 10¢ in late 1969).
A Hershey bar today costs somewhere around $1.50 and up.
Back in the day I could have bought 30 Hershey bars for $1.50 (and there was no sales tax back then either).
That demonstrates that in my lifetime the government has inflated our currency to the point it has lost up to 96% or more of its purchasing power.
That might not align with some government charts and data but that is the same government that told us inflation in 2021 was only around 5% or 6%
when our reality is that the price of things we buy skyrocketed - gasoline more than doubled and eggs went from less than $1.00 to over $4.00.
To help put it in perspective consider this: In 1950 the minimum wage was 75¢, today it is $15.00.
The only thing we can say with certainty is that just about everything the federal government tells us is either a lie or not true due to wilful stupidity.
Either way we can easily see that they have stolen most of the value of the money we earn and save.
That doesn't clear it up at all, does it?
The only ones who really know what happened are Michael and Barack.
