All we need is an electrical outage in the winter for a couple days. Then hubby will be motivated...
That is great motivation!!
Hurricane Ike was my hubs’ motivation for a generator!
I keep thinking if we (ever) add an outdoor kitchen....maybe I could squeeze in a wood stove....somehow.
Do you have an idea where yours would go? Do you have a sun room?

Tigermaus had caught a mouse about 1/2 hour ago.
For some reason, he dropped it right in front of
my old china cabinet. which the mouse promptly
ran underneath of!

It’ll probably go on the screen porch or near it - then we’d enclose it. That’ll be easiest place for the chimney. it wouldn’t be the best location to heat the house, but in an emergency we’ll just cuddle up around it.
this house came with a natural gas heater in the basement, it’s just a big box. it vents out a chimney through the house/2nd floor/roof. we might be able to use that chimney somehow. that heater is supposed to be for emergencies doesn’t need electricity, but I dunno. I’d rather have a wood stove!
