Yes, Trump would need 218 yea votes to be Speaker.
I think he would fall far short in our RINO House for sure.
I heard that while pubbies wouldn’t vote against McCarthy, many of them let him know they wouldn’t vote for him as Speaker if he ran again.
LOL McCarty wouldn’t have the votes either.
Maybe because it is so nice and quiet and our brains can concentrate on what’s important.

Just the mere suggestion of nominating Trump for Speaker is having Demonrat’s heads exploding all over the place.

I remember all of those scary warnings! And let’s not forget the brilliant Hollywood star (I think it was Ted Danson) who warned us that the oceans would be dry before 2000. 1) Democrats always stick together. Republicans do not.
2) The chaos is a manifestation of not having a red wave. A narrow majority means that a few have power to overtake the whole.
3) The more conservative CR with spending cuts and border funding failed & instead we got a worse bill. McCarthy out could mean a Dem-leaning Speaker voted on by all Democrats and just a few moderate Rs. A quest for perfection can backfire.
