The suit claims that the images of the sandwich on the store's menus are misleading and amount to a breach of contract.
AFlorida judge this week rejected a bid from Burger King to dismiss a class action lawsuit against the fast food chain that has alleged the franchise repeatedly exaggerated the size and beef content of its signature Whoppers.
The suit claims that the images of the sandwich on the store's menus are misleading and amount to a breach of contract. It also claims that deceptive advertising, which allegedly began in 2017, has made the Whoppers appear "approximately 35% larger in size, and contain more than double the meat, than the actual burger," according to Fox Business.
U.S. District Judge Roy Altman on Tuesday rejected Burger King's bid for dismissal, allowing the suit to advance. At least 100 plaintiffs have joined the suit.
Attorney James C. Kelly, one of the lawyers representing the plaintiffs, told Fox Business that the group is seeking changes to the menu photos and "fairness across the industry on the issue."
>> The one on the right looks like the cook squashed it with his spatula. <<
No, if anything it’s still nicer than typical.
Yeah. The Filet-o-Fish used to be a square patty that filled the bun and the corners of it would stick out of the bun. It was covered with an entire square police of American cheese. Now it's a rectangular little thing barely bigger than a fish stick, and the slice of cheese likely less than half of what it used to be.
Check
not just food. bought a car in the 60’s because the advertising showed lots of pretty girls hanging out with a guy who bought one of those cars. can I retroactively sue the car company for false advertising?
>> Yuck. How do people eat this crap in the first place? <<
Congratulations on recognizing the inferiority! You have such a refined palate!
What is it about online folks that they feel the need to say that they don’t like food that is sold for “convenience”? Yes, given the opportunity, I make my own. At lunch, sometimes I want a hamburger and shocker of shockers!: My office doesn’t come with a range, frying pan, or fresh ground meat! I don’t have time or money for a $30 dinner at one of the sit-down restaurants, so I have fast food. And yes, Burger King burgers are better than McDonald’s.
No, that's your own fault :)
“class action lawsuit.”
Pathetic. Its entreprenurial abuse of the legal system
The lawyers who brought the case are an ambulancing-chasing law firm in Miami, who claim to have brought together 100 “plaintiffs” - probably homeless people who signed their name to a form for the promise of $5.
They’ll settle with Burger King, take the majority of the settlement for themselves, and then divide the remainder among “burger king” customers who will get $0.50, if they bother to apply
Maybe Burger King should run “political” ads and oh by the way stop in and get a burger….. we all know political ads can lie and that’s ok! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Would not know - never eat there.
There burgers give me heartburn of epic proportion. Also saw the grilling assembly line. Reminded me of cow crap falling out the back end of a cow.
He was the good guy. He was always the good guy. We knew this in 1993.
Everybody, regardless of socio-economic status, has the ability to provide themselves a nutritious lunch. They don't need to go to a fast-food joint because they can't afford a sit-down meal at a restaurant.
I realize it's a choice to eat fast food, but it's an unhealthy and costly one. Also, totally unnecessary.
well
it is called a whopper
probably homeless people who signed their name
to a form for the promise of $5.

Most every thing and every body has a price.
The question remains as to how high is it?
Life goes on and we choose or participate.
Make all fast food joints post a giant disclaimer stating how your product MAY NOT look like the product advertised on the menu. Big letters and pictograms (for the ones that can’t read.)
I will never partake of ANY food item from Burger King ever again.
I HAVE drank a few cups of coffee from there since.
That is all.
BK serves Douwe Egberts coffee - which is not that awful.
In October 2020 we went too see friends in Moab and stopped at a McDonald’s in Price, Utah. We were that hungry.
I expected something awful and instead was treated to the cleanest restaurant I’ve ever seen, friendly service, and a hot tasty Quarter Pounder with hot tasty fries. Best fast food burger I’ve ever had and I love In-N-Out!
These places can do better if they want to.
You know there have been a couple of bone headed decisions by Trump judges recently. I think he probably listened to the wrong advisors on these appointees.
I love Whoppers. I don’t actually look at the pictures. The real scam is Taco Bell. The difference between what you see in the ad and what you get is incredible. Frustratingly, Taco Bell used to be great, but the food they serve now is pathetic.
