Dan Bongino, former Secret Service Agent, suggested that Trump not post bond in Fulton County and make them jail him. Dan said that the Secret Service has the authority to shut a facility down to protect the President, implying that they would have to remove all the rest of the prisoners.
I think that if Trump ever did jail time, he’d be the only prisoner in the place.
Good point. I'll have to think about that. I think my impression he won't be in a formal jail is based on my mushy impressions and ideas which have morphed into a hunch or opinion. I like having more to add to the mix to try to figure it out. ThankQ!

Yes, I have heard all these arguments all my life. What is ignored by those justifying the South is the rise of the Klan, burning, killing. Prez Wilson and the Democrats embraced Margaret Sanger and helped found Planned Parenthood. FDR continued such practices enclosed in the doctrines of socialism/Commumism. As Rush Limbaugh said, the Klan remained the military arm of the Dem Party into the times of Jimmy Carter.
Republicans stuck it to the South with Reconstruction, carpetbaggers, theft of property and oppressive policies, which helped fuel the Klan.
Of course one outcome of the War between the States has been destruction of states' rights, now being severely felt. In reality, it is the Dem Party that has seized on federalism and strong central govt to foster their greed for power. Their attitudes towards blacks is painfully obvious in every urban area that they have controlled for over half a century. In that sense they still enslave blacks and exploit them for money and power.
