Stanley Kubrick is considered one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. Of his 13 movies a few are considered classics in their respective genres. Including the black comedy Dr. Strangelove, the highly-quoteable anti-war commentary of Full Metal Jacket, and one of the most disturbing horror films of all time, The Shining.
But in 1968, Kubrick released "2001 - A Space Odyssey". This is more than a classic. It's a masterpiece. And widely regarded as one of the best science-fiction films of all time, and probably the most influential.
This collaboration with science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke tells the story of an alien intelligence that visited Earth in the distant past, and left behind artifacts in the solar system.
The movie (2001 - A Space Odyssey) features ground breaking special effects, which still hold up today.
In fact, the effects looked so good that the movie gave the American Government an idea.
Billions of tax dollars were invested in the space program but the Soviets were still years ahead of the United States.
NASA desperately needed to get to the moon before Russia, but they knew it was impossible. So they turned to one of the World's Best Filmmakers for help. Because when it came to the moon: if they couldn't make it, they'd fake it!

The point is the video you posted DEBUNKS the idea that the moon landing was a hoax. It was real.
“Wouldn’t it be great to make everyone think we had landed on the moon?

I see no reason why the moon landing wouldn’t be real.
The reason I posted it is because he didn’t do a good job refuting his own evidence against it. I don’t buy the fake alien base theory…and I don’t think others do either.
I know it’s real...the guy who posted the video apparently didnt’ watch the video to end. Or if he did he’s being dishonest. The format of the “Why Files” is that the host presents an argument and looks at it from both sides. First he gives the affirmative and then he gives the negative.
So in this case he first looks at the moon landing like it was a hoax and presents the “evidence” for it. In the second part he looks at the “evidence” for it and finds alternate explanations. In the case of the moon landings the “evidence” that’s it’s a hoax is based mainly on ignorance and in some cases out and out fraud.
He did a great job. You just don't want to believe it.
How did we get through the Van Allen Belts? How did the Monkey do? There are no bases on the moon…it’s a psyop to prepare us for the staged “Alien Invasion”…
Along these lines are a couple of good movies. Capricorn one, a little dated from the 70s, And Moonwalkers. 2015 a good comedy about this very subject. I thought the thread was about it at first.
😃
agnostic. on moon landings... I don’t think I have the educational background that would allow me to judge whether the moon landings. I do believe that the government lies all the time.
(Capricorn One)
Just watched it Tuesday night.
Notice the scenes after his buddy disappeared from the pool 🎱🎱 hall.
I had forgotten about that one.
Anyone that thinks that the old Soviet Union would have allowed the US to get by with such a hocus as a fake moon landing has less active brain cells then’Bradon’!!!
Do you believe we were attacked on 9/11 because they hate us for our freedoms? That was the official reason. W and his crew said it many times.
To be fair, Buzz punched the nutball in the face because the wackjob started grabbing him. Buzz just wanted to get away from the loon.
Great episode of the Why Files, which my wife and I are awfully fond of. AJ is a great researcher and writer and Hecklefish is hysterical. You really need to watch this episode (one of the better ones, I think) to the end, because one of the hallmarks of the program is that AJ will set up a premise and then (if possible) debunk it. Nihil assumpseris.
Probably from Irwin Allen's movie "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" and I believe they were also mentioned in "Lost in Space".
For realism Stanley Kubrick insisted that they film it on the moon.
************************
That’s pretty funny but actually 180degrees from reality. Kubrick was a well known cheapskate about filming on location. He couldn’t even go to a country that looked somewhat tropical to film Full Metal Jacket. Most of the scenes were filmed in England with planted palm trees.
I dont care why murderers, muslims included, kill. I just want the killers dead.
No, we’re still here.
