This state of affairs exists because the left hates private property and willingly allows intruders to break in and take over. This is only one step on the way to the elimination of private property.

In many states, ejecting squatters is a law enforcement duty (often the county sheriff).

which makes sense since such confrontations have “Violence” written all over them...

Acquaintance of mine made the big mistake of letting a friend crash on his couch (friend was down and out, just broke up with his girlfriend, etc.). Took him almost a year to get rid of the guy.

The squatters have no money to feed the beast. The property owner will pay filing fees, lawyer fees, records fees, title search fees, court fees, etc....

Then the ultimate insult comes when you get an income tax bill for imputed income for the time you couldn't rent the house. Usually around $5K.

That’s it.
This is where we all play “Nearer my God to Thee!”, as we slip beneath the surface of a once superior society.

What the hell was Hunter Biden doing there?

Seems to me you could pay $5k cash to MS13 to swing by and exterminate the pests in such a manner that behavior isn’t repeated. If the cops won’t enforce the law, gangs will do a lot of violence for money; things that no cop would ever do

And $5k is going to be cheaper than legal fees and property damage. The gangs could have a wonders little industry running on the side

All made possible by incompetence of the DEMs

Have a copy of the current title to the property— to show the police, and not be arrested on the word of slimeballs greasing up a nice property one owns. Word of advice. Also— enroll in at least the “notification service” offered by many counties— to inform you of anyone’s using your name for property transactions. It’s free and the search words ought to be your legal name, and/or named owner/corporation/trust... etc. You find out someone’s trying to take your titled property (not doing it by squatting, which then you have to evict w/ the sheriff), and you nullify the transaction and make the people doing it— criminals, which they are!

Some friends of mine live in the Oakland Hills, they, as well as many of their neighbors, pay $350 a month to a private security company, to watch their house.

I was going to stay with them for a couple of days and arrived early (they were still at work). I coded myself in, then I was unloading my luggage when security pulled up. They confirmed that my name matched the "guest" list they had been given.

Yes, they are nuts to live there, but the $350 is cheap compared to what these people are going through.

“A homeowner stopped by to check on his suburban Atlanta property — only to be arrested for trespassing.”

Hundreds of thousands of Southerners died trying to prevent this.

They need statues. Big ones.

The idea that these are random events is questionable. There could be a squatter's network - that lets certain criminal types know which houses are empty.

Sounds like an organized entity.

RICO - Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations

Examples of crimes that may be alleged to be part of a pattern of racketeering activity include:

Organized, coordinated, and repeated or regular theft operations, including: pickpocketing, burglary, smash and grab, home invasion...

----------------------------

If authorities wanted to deal with this.....they would. But it's more lucrative to scare the crap out of homeowners, and sell products that "protect" home titles. The ones with commercials at three in the morning.

“They told the police that I was a home invader and that it was their home. And so I ended up being arrested and detained,” Arko said.

In Biden's America, there is only one "right" thing to say when you come home to discover that a group of thugs has taken over your property:

"Welcome!"

Regards,

What part of she has a title and they don't?

They don't have a lease and she didn't make one?

Makes any question at all of why they should be thrown out on the street?

What world is this?

The first time I heard about anything like this was in Portland, OR 10 years ago.
One of my best friends lost her home to squatters from India and law enforcement was powerless.

“Since then, Arko has been fighting to evict the alleged squatters in court.”

That’s the first mistake. Don’t call your lawyer, don’t call the cops. Go to the local outlaw biker bar and tell them “I’ve got $1000 cash if you can get these people off my property long enough for me to change the locks”.
