Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor has passed away, according to the Irish Times. She was 56 years old.
O’Connor released 10 studio albums throughout her career, though she is most well-known for her single “Nothing Compares 2 U.”
...O’Connor published a memoir, titled Rememberings, in 2021, in which she discussed being pressured to have an abortion by label executive Nigel Grainge; Grainge allegedly was so invested in ensuring that O’Connor aborted, he went to her doctor and told him to “impress upon” her a warning not to continue with the pregnancy.

Yes, they should have.
He did, all right.
I guess it was to boost sales
I assumed the "bald look" was to protest patriarchal beauty standards imposed on women.
"Demand for Perfection" Fallacy!
If that's the way you feel: How about you first go and solve World Peace before you sit in judgement over everyone else?
I respected and admired Pope John Paul II, and O'Connor's public display was overdramatic, grandiose, and otherwise completely "over the top," but she may have been motivated by sincere beliefs.

Death of yet another trashy celebrity — {~~yawn~~}
If this story is true then she deserves high praise.
The European Union destroyed Ireland. No one person could have done that.
She did some good things, and some bad things, like everybody else.
But what I can’t stand is all these people now pretending she was some kind of saint or something, now that she’s dead.
They finished the job England started during Black 47.
She was a troubled soul. She had a bit of the dark, brooding, melancholic and apocalyptic Irish outlook in her
I have some family connections to Ireland, and its my humble opinion her decision not to abort was very likely due to the seeds of her Irish-Catholic culture planted in her in her youth, coming to fruition. For someone born in the 1960s, that culture was very strong.
that’s not the case now
Amen!! 🙏😉
But I do think John Paul II was an amazingly honorable man, however! 🥰
Sinead was very bright and sadly troubled. “If you have an innocent heart you can’t recognise those who do not.” 100% True. “Behold I send you as sheep in the midst of wolves. Be ye therefore wise as serpents and simple as doves” (Mt 10: 16). Hollywood is full of wolves.
Some day we might even find out how she died. It should not even be legal to hide the basic cause of death.
I read elsewhere a few days ago, that she tore up a picture of the pope that was her moms. her mom idolized the pope and was not good to Sinead. To her it was about the lies of and treatment by her mother.
I am not sure the truth and neither is anyone else, about why she tore up the pope picture. Sinead and God know, and He is her judge, not you, me or anyone else.
