Just asking. Media says it's going to be a box office smash.
I stopped off at a military only (AAFES) store in the Little Rock area, and was amazed that it had several rows of nothing but Barbies and accessories. They even had “designer fashion” Barbies wearing labeled designer dresses and real jewelry.
I asked about it and was assured that everything Barbie was a high volume sale, and that they regularly ordered $1,000+ Barbie products, of which there were a lot.
Ahhhsome! Somewhere, a liberal will be upset. I don't know why. Maybe innocence and purity make them angry.
Enjoy.
Real women aren’t going to see it. That stupid doll bought into the women as objects idea. Real moms did not buy them for their girls.
No.
This is the result of America dumbing down to a very low position in history.
When Hollywood runs out of ideas and creativity, they try to bring their childhood toys & heroes to the silver screen.
It started with “Toy Story” which was nice, then it descended to comic book characters, (again, from their childhood...those Baby Boomers who are now between 60-80, they are the adults in charge now).
Now, Barbie & Ken? What’s next? GI Joe? Capt. Kangaroo? Where does this descent into nostalgic, fantasy end?
Barbie increases the material and professional expectations of little girls. They are likely to find out that their contemporary little boys decide to opt out when they get older.
They should have made Will Ferrell into Ken. Then it will be a satire. I could see that working.
Certainly not taking the kids.
It doesn't have to be bad if done correctly. I've enjoyed Kill Bill. Wonder Woman. Clueless.
Yea, can’t wait! \s
Not sure if I like Ryan Gosling in that role. He looks like a simp. Ken the doll was not a simp.
I had a friend who warned his daughter not to turn out like her Barbie doll: discarded in a corner, gathering dust, and without any clothes on.
Chad’s Rule !
Reminds me of the old joke
“Barbie comes with Ken”
“No, Barbie comes with G.I. Joe.”
Only the fags
She will start dating Kyle Rittenhouse.
“I’ll be surprised if this latest disaster doesn’t go down in flames like a lot of these other films lately.”
So. They don’t have anything else to provide as entertainment consequently don’t be surprised when the sequel comes to a theater near you. To provide entertainment requires some talent somewhere and they are at an all time low in that commodity.
