easier than sedating them. Simply stupefy the prison population the same way the world population is being stupefied.
This has always been my backup/retirement plan, free housing, meals, and healthcare. I can just workout and read the day away.
Better than letting them lift weights.
“Justin Paperny, founder of White Collar Advice, said tablets provide inmates across the country a chance to learn new technology and better prepare themselves for their eventual release dates.”
Thats some real alternate reality thinking right there.
Hard data proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that what cuts prison recidivism rates more than anything is a real faith and relationship in Jesus Christ.......and it ain’t even close.
What the prison systems are really hoping to do is pacify the inmates to mitigate violence.
Just like adolescents.
It keeps them out of trouble......................
Ahem, state clients.
“One company alone is providing devices to 600,000 inmates, nearly one-third of estimated 1.9 million people in US jails and prisons.”
How in the world does this “just happen” like this? Why didn’t the public have a say - the ones who were victimized?
The video camera can be disabled.
Could they restrict prison Wi-Fi from being able to upload?
Almost 2,000,000 in American prisons?
Gezzz..
That’s the state you want to commit crime in, most definitely.
Prison, the way we use it, should be abolished.
I’m not opposed to this, but the tablets should have educational content only and no wi-fi.
I know someone in prison, who has a tablet like this. He had to buy it, and he has to pay for most anything he does have access to, such as music playlists. The Dept of Corrections and the local prison also use the tablets for many communications to the inmates, which used to be printed and disbursed on paper or tacked to bulletin boards in the housing units. I think they are mostly provided free by the state now, since they are utilized a good deal by the prisons.
They DO NOT have access to the internet, and (at least in IL), the tablets are not used for any phone calls or video chats, etc. Since all of their calls are subject to being monitored or recorded, it seems unlikely that the tablets would be used for calls under current conditions. Just my 2 cents.
The very much liberal-despised Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio believed that anyone serving time in prison should have nothing that a free man or womans should have.
What The Left wants for us all.
Who funded the “one company” who provided the 600k ipads?
Hmmm... /s
Here in Texas, the offenders get an tablet with ear buds free! They can watch movies (that they pay for) and listen to music (that they pay for) and can call home to loved ones.
The movies they can watch up to 5 times then it is not playable anymore. The music is theirs. The phone calls to loves ones, are on their list (up to 10) numbers. Keeps them from getting in trouble. So I think it is a good thing!
