Former President Donald Trump could face a third indictment in connection to a Jan. 6 investigation, but given the response from staunch Trump supporters, many predict another indictment will help the former president win the Republican nomination. On "Fox & Friends" on Wednesday, Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., argued that given President Biden's polling numbers, the Justice Department is going to do "whatever they can" to secure a Biden-Trump rematch in 2024.
SEN. JOHN KENNEDY: I don't know what the facts are. I haven't seen the indictment yet. I will say in terms of the politics, and this is a cynical point of view, but I think some Americans are drawing this conclusion that President Biden and President Trump have a codependency. President Trump wants President Biden as an opponent because he thinks he'll be the easiest to beat. President Biden wants President Trump as an opponent because given President Biden's poll numbers, he polls right up there with Bud Light, he thinks President Trump is the only person he can beat. Now one of them is gonna be wrong. I hate to say this, but I think it's a fair observation. I think the Justice Department's going to do pretty much what, at the senior levels, whatever they can to make sure that President Trump is the nominee, because that's who President Biden wants.
On Tuesday, Trump revealed in a Truth Social post he had been informed he's a target of a probe into the Jan. 6, 2021, storming of the U.S. Capitol and efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
A government source with direct knowledge of the situation tells Fox News that Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office sent Trump a target letter, and the former president confirmed the news in a social media post Tuesday.

I guess it makes sense. If they can get another term, they can possibly put Trump behind bars, but it’s not likely to happen before then, if ever since SCOTUS will likely get involved, and the merits of their case is zilch. Until then, they can at least damage his campaign and finances, but leave him viable as the Republican candidate who might be easier to beat.
Kind of risky though. The Democrat party is losing some of its minority base who will either vote for Trump, for a third party or stay home.
I don’t buy the notion that this is 3D underwater Chess from Democrats.
I think these people simply cannot help themselves. The TDS runs so deeply with them that all logic and reason went out the window a long time ago and their consuming obsession became “get Trump at any cost - laws, customs and norms be damned.”

Trump didn’t need any help to become nominee. The nonsensical charges against him probably helped his polling but Trump was so far ahead anyways it wouldn’t have mattered.
It’s far, far from a popular thing to say around here but I will say it again;
Ben Shapiro said a poll was done and Trump is the ONLY serious candidate Biden can beat. I think the mid-terms red whimper supports that claim.

I will vote for Trump (again third time) but the moderates and many women won’t.
Yeah, the DOJ and their fellow travelers at the state level are intent on throwing an unending string of indictments at Trump to make sure he’s on the ballot in 2024. That makes perfect sense. /s
July 15, 2015 was a seminal date in Republican Party history. Jeb Bush was slightly ahead of Trump in the national poll released that day that was conducted during the prior week.
That was the last time an establishment GOP candidate has ever led a presidential primary poll. That was eight years ago.
Since that day, every GOP primary poll has been led by either Donald Trump or (for brief periods in late 2015) Ben Carson.
We keep hearing these “conservative” media nitwits claim that Trump is the only Republican candidate who can be beaten by some retard like Joe Biden, but none of them can explain which of these candidates can attract widespread support among REPUBLICAN voters.

Back last summer, before Trump was charged with anything, he was polling at his lowest point, still ahead of DeSantis but only by a few points. After they charged him in the New York case, his support jumped 10 points, then after the federal charges, his support jumped another 10 points. To where now he holds a 26-point lead. I fully expect his support to jump even more if they charge him with this January 6 crap.
Must royally tee off the democrats that what they think will destroy Trump actually makes him more popular and stronger.

I haven’t watched the Kennedy video, but from watching Kennedy in the past, he has a very ‘ironic’ sense of humor.
They kept the jan 6 people in confinement as a reminder..,’do not try it’.. and it’s worked.
If they take Trump in at any time.. will we say enough? Where is the republican congress? Are we gonna survive or do they have this nation hand tied,?
