I would want my airline pilot to fly from memory and never ever use trainers, checklist or refresh his training. It shows amateurishness.

Get used to it......this is what diversity medical care will be in the future.

I would feel much better having a doctor studying a procedure before performing it on me as opposed to trying to wing it and then forgetting an important step or two along the way.
For example, I've replaced the belt on my lawn mower from time to time but I still check out the video before doing it again just to make sure the steps are fresh in my mind.

It depends on the procedure.

Be sure to check out where your doctor went to school. I was just reading about the University of California Santa Clara Medical College. Their goal is to attract as many minorities as possible. That means rejecting as many more qualified candidates as possible. They’ve already stated they have ways to get around the recent Supreme Court ruling.

If they do, considering the thousands of Americans killed by medical mistakes annually, that discrimination may end up saving some lives.
I cam tell you this: After what I’ve seen and witnessed over the last three years, I won’t be going in for another wellcare visit any time soon.

I would feel much better having a doctor studying a procedure before performing it on me as opposed to trying to wing it and then forgetting an important step or two along the way. Alternatively, the ER doctor could call in an Ortho doctor who will charge an additional consult and procedure fee, while you wait another 3 hours for Ortho doctor to get to the ER.
Wrapping a distal extremity isn't brain surgery. I'll take the ER doctor with a video review prior to splint application.

I do believe it can be helpful to review whatever you can trust to make sure you don't miss something.
This seems a bit funny to read about, but, honestly, doctors and nurses both need continuing education credits, and Medscape provides real-life test cases for doctors on random maladies, and it's a lot of fun to go through them.
Doctors can't know everything they run into. It's just life, and doctors are human, just like us.
We were always wrong to believe they had perfect knowledge.

I used to do the same thing at work for changing the filter on the drinking fountains. Worked great.
