Shocking moment NYC SummerStage worker pepper sprays crowd after being called 'f****t' by concert goer as he accuses group of 'bum-rushing' gate and forcing a barricade on top of him

The shocking moment where a concert goer was pepper sprayed by a security guard after the worker accused the person of calling him a 'f****t' was caught on camera.

The incident occurred in the midst of Colombian singer Juanes' free gig in New York City's Central Park as part of the SummerStage concert series on Thursday. The event had to be abandoned because thousands had hopped fences in order to get in and created an unsafe environment, organizers said.

The video begins with the security worker accusing a group of 'bum-rushing' the gate and forcing a barrier on top of him. The man then points out one crowd member, alleging that person used a slur.

'You called me a f****t? Done, done, done right now,' he says. The man tells other crowd members to duck as he takes the spray from his pocket and yells: 'B***h' before storming away.

An attendee of the concert told the New York Post that security personnel were antagonizing the crowd. Isaac Carvajal said he was with his father, around 10 minutes from where the pepper spraying took place.

Harsh yes but there was no need to pepper spray the crowd.

Apparently, his bum got rushed. You’d think he would appreciate that.

In NY City, being called that is a compliment, isn't it?

He clearly doesn’t like being correctly identified. Hope he is charged with assault.

I am not sure ‘f****t’ stands for. It seems like it should be ‘f***er’, but in the Ebonics in use today in NYC that is now a term of endearment and should not have incited a violent reaction.

In the 80s I was an usher at the Fox Theater in Detroit for various concerts. I had to tell people not to stand on the seats and not to smoke and if things got ugly, call in security. It sucked. Worst concert was The Smiths, I have no idea why. Maybe bad drugs being circulated? Those attendees were a rowdy violent bunch and even security was backing off. I know how crowds can be possessed by some weird dangerous group think hive mind.

There might be some truth to the part about security trying to cause an issue. Im sure that no one in our government would ever conceive of a plan to cause an event that would limit public gatherings.

Then again, he could just be some penis wrinkle looking to try out the pepper spray. I was at an Ozzy concert about 94ish in Alpine Valley. The general admission area of the amphitheater is separated from the covered area with seats by a little ledge (<3ft) with a narrow asphalt walkway below. The crowd was all behaving just standing there watching, not a lot of yelling, nothing being thrown, no fighting, nothing. What appeared to be an officer, but certainly could have been a guard from one of these fake mall cop outfits, walked past in front of the general crowd then backed up and walked back down the path forward again just hosing that little can into the eyes of everyone on that ledge until the can was empty.

No provocation from the crowd, certainly not dozens of them. No one thrown out nor arrested if it were a real cop. Just a bunch of angry fans trying to wipe the spray off while trying not to stumble off the ledge and one missing person in uniform.
