The price of Ozempic is already sky-high — but experts warn extreme weight loss could also cost your life.
Dr. Terry Dubrow, the mastermind plastic surgeon behind the hit series “Botched,” is slamming the drastic methods an increasing number of patients are risking to achieve drastic weight loss following the autopsy results for Lisa Marie Presley.
The late daughter of Elvis Presley died in January at the age of 54. It was revealed this week that she lost her life due to a small bowel obstruction after bariatric surgery.
Dubrow, 64, is now urging experts in the weight loss community to raise awareness of the dangers of weight loss treatments, such as Ozempic and bariatric surgery. In an exclusive interview with TMZ, he warned it could result in a deadly situation — especially when the treatments are combined.

Also taking an opioid, which does the same. DAILY dose of Miralax is required for that alone.
“ Ozempic works by slowing down the digestive process. ”

And opiate painkillers add to that effect.
Gee. I’m shocked. Shocked, I tell you.

Damn: This means yet another page of analysis to add to my book just to cite drugs which didn’t exist a mere few years prior.
reading the article reveals that her death had nothing to do with the drug. But carry on.
People are too lazy and screwed up to work out
“According to the LA County Coroner’s report released on Thursday, Lisa Marie had “therapeutic” levels of oxycodone in her system when she died, as well as Buprenorphine, an opioid used to treat addiction, and Quetiapine, an antipsychotic.”
But why would you take Ozaempic and then a laxative. The benefits of taking it are form the slowed digestion process.
Lisa Marie Presley had gastric bypass surgery in the past which formed scar tissue that the autopsy concluded had caused the blockage. They found therapeutic levels of opioids in her system too. There was no mention of Ozempic so why this doctor is trying to connect that to her death is a mystery. It’s highly unprofessional of him to use her death to push his agenda about something completely unrelated. It’s just sensationalism to try and get his name in the news, no different than trying to blame racism or climate change for everything that happens in the world.
He said the drug an bariatric surgery could both cause this problem. We don’t knwo if she took that drug.
Laxatives don’t speed up digestion, they speed up bowel movements.
Read closer. He is saying bariatric surgery and Ozempic can both cause the same problems, and both of them are popular weight loss solutions now.
My wife and I just fast a couple of days a week, going 36, sometimes 60 hours without calories. Much easier than trying to ‘control calories’.
But since there’s no money in fasting, it doesn’t get studied and it doesn’t get recommended.
Ain't that the truth. Jason Fung did a small study with amazing results a few years ago. It was too small to be notices, because that's what he could afford.
Why couldn't Jack Dorsey or Elon Musk use some of their money to fund a study?
I read it and while it is a popular weight loss drug she wasn’t on it and it had nothing to do with her death. The implication from the article is that it did, that’s unprofessional to imply. If you want to write an article detailing your concerns with Ozempic do it without the deception of using a celebrity’s unrelated death to push your agenda.
Isn't that the really fun-looking one in all those TV ads?
“Why couldn’t Jack Dorsey or Elon Musk use some of their money to fund a study?”
Wouldn’t that be something - some non-corrupt entity financing medical research. They would HAVE to find a way to shut that down.
Agree on Jason Fung, TOTAL HERO in my book. For others, still lots of his videos on YouTube (no idea why the government allows them to stay available).
It is a good bit more complex than "working out". Permanent dietary changes are required, and those are made more difficult by carb addiction. The #3 ingredient on this bag of beef jerky I have here now is sugar.
Or Linzess when that foesn’t work, because it doesn’t for lots of people; particularly those on opioids long-term.
It says there’s no indication that she did so...
