Why are there so many “news” articles now based entirely around some random person’s tweet or TikTok video? Today’s journalists are lazy as hell.
You never know if these things are staged, but in this case I don’t care - I am SICK of what has become a tip-entitled society...and so I rarely tip, and do not tip in Blue states.
I make my own.
Which is delicious, BTW.
Problem solved.
If someone tips a delivery driver it is for the delivery, it shouldn’t have anything to do with whether the meal delivered was $15.00 or $60.00
Deep State likes them that way.
I drive three miles down the road to Domino’s and pick it up myself.
Probably the guys’d last day on the job
I delivered pizza while in college. Low pay, I was paid by my employer for each delivery. A tip was “extra” income and sincerely appreciated. The customer got a “thank you” whether they tipped me or not
Because when business when down, I was sent home. No deliveries, no work. No work, no pay
Entitled immature kids who are doing a disservice to their employer. I blame the parents
I would complain to both the restaurant and to Door Dash, to alert them that one of their drivers was this rude.
If I can’t be guaranteed this driver would never bring another one of my orders, I would just stop doing business with that restaurant.
If a delivery driver ever made such remarks to me, I would presume he was casing my home for a future robbery.
Once he complained I’d ask for my tip back and never order from there again.
With that being said,$5 would be our tip.
Door Dash drivers only earnings is the tip. I agree the DD driver should not be rude but instead make a note to not deliver to the same address again.
If that guy was indeed a Doordash driver. they should have been reported, and they would certainly be deactivated for talking back to a customer that way.
As a Doordash driver myself , I wouldn’t even think of talking to a customer in a rude tone of voice even if the customer was rude to me. I guess I was brought up in a different time.
IF I were casing your house, I would be very gracious and friendly so as not to alarm you.
Solution is to get a real job instead of being an independent contractor for essentially free.
I’m glad to tip anyone who delivers food to me - it’s a service and I appreciate it. But 25% is more than fair and more than generous. If this ingrate doesn’t like it, he should try finding a job which pays him the kind of salary he expects.
As soon as you complain you get nothing.
Life can be a lot better if you can limit unnecessary interactions with strangers in society. Sometimes friemds and family too.
I don’t do food or grocery deliveries. Just normal packages. I like my mail carrier, she’s competent and nice.
It is rare that I tip more than 15%. Now there are tip jars at bbq drivethroughs. Ridiculous.
/curmudgeon
Here’s a tip. Give me that 5 bucks back and gtfo my porch.
