Today we celebrate the 13 original states seceding from the Union and forming a confederacy. (Articles of Confederation.)
LOL! Yep. I call it the Declaration of Secession.
It is exactly that. People just aren’t used to hearing it described that way.
I’d much rather Hawaii and California and Vermont go. All of them have talked about it. In California’s case I’d agree so long as they agreed to let those parts that wished to remain part of the US secede from California. I’d recognize the new state of Jefferson.
Seeing their cause now hopeless, most of New England as well as Chicago, Detroit, the rest of the Left Coast (minus the eastern halves of Oregon and Washington which would become Greater Idaho, and a few other cities secede. They never liked America anyway so well keep the title and the flag.
We can then set about implementing drastic reforms to defang and drain the Swamp.
And it tends to unnerve them because they want there to be a distinction between the War of Independence and the "Civil War."
They have been taught to consider them differently, and they are often shocked when it is pointed out how very similar they are.
+1.
As opposed to your post, America doesn’t celebrate the Articles of Confederation on July 4th. In fact, we don’t celebrate the Articles at all.
In other words, secession from the Union.
There is no moral equivalency between the two wars.
Absolutely correct. One war was to make all the American colonies free, sovereign and independent states. These states formed a voluntary union for friendship and defense. The other war was for one group of states to prevent a second group of states from being free, sovereign and independent. It was to reverse the relationship of states and the federal government, and to make the states which created the federal government and delegated limited powers to that government, subservient to the federal government that they had created. It did not preserve the union that was, but created a new union, radically and fundamentally changing the nature of the union itself. It ceased to be a voluntary union and became one of coercion, a Hotel California of unions.
Happy secession day.
And to you too.
Nice home page, Jacquerie.
The Continental Congress sent it to the states on Nov. 15, 1777, but Maryland refused to ratify unless the states which had western claims would renounce them, so that’s why it did not go into effect until March 1, 1781.
So you keep saying while you deliberately ignore the fact the USA Congress voted to pass a slavery forever amendment.
All they had to do to keep slavery forever was stay in the Union.
But you don't care about truth. You only care about what you wish to believe.
For a guy/gal who always claims not to have dog in this fight, no relatives or ancestors on either side you always come down of the side of these Southern scoundrels, don't you?
That is because the evidence shows *THEY* were in the right, and the people who invaded them to subjugate them were in the wrong.
And slavery has nothing to do with why the DC corruption cartel invaded them.
When you initiate an aggressive course of open and armed conflict, one you have every intention of winning then you must assume that your opponent will come at you with every thing he's got and you, the aggressor will be invaded and occupied when the fortunes of war turn against you, the aggressor. Just as the Confederacy did in June/July 1863 when it moved aggressively into Maryland and then on into Pennsylvania. They were the aggressor. And they got their butts kicked. The South bought this on themselves. And so Professor let me ask you something: If the South had won it's war of aggression against the Union would it have continued the system of slavery or would it have ended it? What say you , Reb?
600,000 dead Americans.
Thank you Jeff Davis. Thank you Robert E. Lee. Confederate scoundrels the both of you.
“The treasonous rebel bastards should have been hung.”
Is this you talking, or the Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant?
Yes it was.
There is no constitutional right to secede,
There is, but for a better understanding, see "Declaration of Independence."
enslaving an entire race made a mockery of our stated intention to be a nation of free people,
The people didn't really care about that until the South decided to leave with their money. Also, the North was still keeping slaves as well.
of all races and the Confederacy opened hostilities by firing on Ft. Sumter.
Lincoln initiated hostilities by sending a fleet of warships and giving them orders to attack the Confederates.
And that's if you ignore the fact that Major Anderson initiated hostilities by seizing unfinished Fort Sumter in the dead of night while people were sleeping.
If you don't want a fight, *DON'T* invade other people.
Half of those 600,000 deserved to die because *THEY* were invading other people who were just defending their homeland.
And the more accurate numbers today is 750,000 killed.
I've been down this road with you a hundred times, you Asperbergers ridden boob and yet you cling to YOUR version of history.
The South sought to preserve slavery as it's means of an economy and opening fire on Ft. Sumter ultimately led to the defeat of the Confederacy.
That is what happened to it as a result of it's ill fated, moronic idea to go to war. It just pisses you off to end because your precious CSA lost the war it started and you're steamed because your version of history is wrong.
