Grab Your Wallets: The Reparations Game Is Rigged
American Thinker ^ | 22 Jun, 2023 | Jack Cashill

Two weeks ago, I participated in a debate on reparations hosted by the American Public Square and later televised by KCPT, the PBS station in Kansas City. If I didn't know beforehand that the game was rigged, I did by the time the edited debate hit the airwaves. Grab your wallets, folks. The reparations crowd is coming for your money.

The concept behind American Public Square is a reasonable one. Troubled by the increasing polarization of the electorate, former ambassador to Portugal Allan Katz founded the organization to bridge the partisan divide through civil discourse.

The programming skews left, as does the audience, but the forum provides contrarians like myself an opportunity...

SNIP

The reparations discussion was anything but congenial. The organizers had a hard time finding a second person to take the "con" side. The one fellow on the "pro" side could barely bring himself to look at me before we started. The moderator, like the organizers, seemed nervous throughout. The audience was about 20 percent black and generally hostile. And all my jokes fell flat.

On the Muslim panel, I tried a little Sun Tzu on the audience, questioning why liberals would ally themselves with a faith group more socially conservative than even the dreaded religious right. On the reparations panel, I again avoided the obvious flaws in their argument and asked instead why black activists would appeal to the very liberals whose largesse has shattered their communities.

I used my first opportunity to speak to imagine the world that singer Fats Domino saw around him on the occasion of his 30th birthday in 1958. Jobs were plentiful. Black families were intact. The community was strong. Streets were safe. One racial barrier after another was falling, and Fats himself was making a boatload of money.

Society must be torn down before it can be rebuilt under communism. This tactic falls under the umbrella of The Critical Theory of Marxism. Criticize and use anger to play groups against each other.

Corporations want it, because they’ll wind up with all the money in the end.

I’m afraid “reparations” is going to be the opening shot of CWII. Americans better get ready and not let the government take away their right to keep and bear arms. We’re gonna need ‘em.

Take money from people who never owned slaves and whose ancestors never owned slaves based on their skin color and give it to people who were never slaves and whose ancestors were never slaves based on their skin color.

Fun times.

BINGO!

Walmart and every grocery store loves food stamps. Isn’t it great when the productive pay for things twice? Reparations are only different from food stamps in that the money will buy anything. There is no supply or demand involved. It is just pure laziness and greed. That’s the economics of the 21st Century.

And another benefit...the ones who sold the slaves were the same color of the slaves...!!! The ones who sold the slaves are not affected by that crime. Again, criminals are not shown to be the root of the issue.

I heard, but do not have the exact words, but that crimes of other generations are not to be used by future generations who have changed the outcomes for better for a reward-—it’s in the Constitution or Bill of Rights...

So where do you think that money will end up?

And just like every other rat cause that won’t be enough. For instance: gay marriage. Ok that went through but look what we have now! Abortion is another one.

Ha! If US ‘minorities’ get billions in so called reparations (i.e., MORE money-or whatever you want to call it) ... it won’t be enough.

Nothing will ever satisfy a crowd of people who by now, are endemically entitled, utterly habituated to indolence, who have never/will never assimilate and who, FROM BIRTH, are encouraged in their homes and throughout society, to believe that their pathologically inimical attitude to America is acceptable!

Why would any taxpayer go along with this? It will never be enough to shut up the grievance, it is pandering by democrats for the black vote, it is an insult to any white person living today. It is without merit, as nobody owes you squat. There are few things more insipid and disgusting than a bleeding heart guilt ridden liberal. Do they really think….no wait…they don’t think. They “feel”.

The question is moot.

There will never be any reparations money

Throw them a bone. Rinos do it to us all the time while supporting democrats.

Give a small amount to those blacks born before the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Acknowledge a wrong. The grifter leadership will lose some influence.

Think Michelle Triola Marvin. Similar? She wanted $7 million for ‘palimony’. She lost her case. The judge awarded her $104k for ‘retraining’ purposes. That way she could claim victory.

If Trump put that out there it would lighten up his image. He could promise to close down some overseas military bases to pay for it.

***Society must be torn down before it can be rebuilt under communism.***

Precisely.
Reminds me of this from the BOOK Doctor Zhivago...

Yurii’s talk with Pogorevshikh on the train to Moscow...
Part 2, chapter 5: 16
Imperturbable as an oracle, he prophesied disastrous
upheavals in the near future. Yurii Andreievich inwardly agreed
that this was not unlikely, but the calm, authoritative tone in
which this unpleasant boy was making his forecasts angered
him.

“Just a moment,” he said hesitantly. “True, all this may happen.
But it seems to me that with all that’s going on — the chaos, the
disintegration, the pressure from the enemy — this is not the
moment to start dangerous experiments. The country must be
allowed to recover from one upheaval before plunging into
another. We must wait till at least relative peace and order are
restored.”

“That’s naive,” said Pogorevshikh. “What you call disorder is
just as normal a state of things as the order you’re so keen
about. All this destruction — it’s a natural and preliminary stage
of a broad creative plan. Society has not yet disintegrated
sufficiently. It must fall to pieces completely then a genuinely
revolutionary government will put the pieces together and build
on completely new foundations.”
