PHILADELPHIA - President Biden’s supporters are willing to give him a pass on allegations he accepted a $5 million bribe from a Ukraine businessman, but less forgiving are independent voters who will be crucial in the general election next year.
Mr. Biden has laughed it off as “a load of malarkey.”
The crowd was equally dismissive of the bribery allegations at his campaign kickoff Saturday with union leaders, many of whom came from out of state to fill the ballroom at Philadelphia’s convention center.
“It’s one of many conspiracy theories trying to bring Biden down,” said Bill Sciblo, a union representative with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees in New Jersey.
His viewpoint was typical of the union activists in the pro-Biden crowd, though most were fully aware of the allegations that Mr. Biden and his family have pocketed money from foreigners in influence-peddling schemes.
Mr. Biden’s reelection campaign got another break on Tuesday when federal prosecutors in Delaware struck a deal with the president’s son, Hunter Biden. The deal ends at least part of the DOJ’s probe of Hunter Biden‘s finances with his guilty plea to two misdemeanor tax evasion charges and likely no jail time.
One of the most serious allegations out there that directly linked Mr. Biden to a bribe came to the attention of the FBI as early as 2017 but only recently emerged in public.
An informant told the FBI that Mr. Biden, while vice president in the Obama administration, was paid $5 million by an executive of the Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings. The same executive made a separate $5 million payment to Mr. Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, according to Republican lawmakers who reviewed an FBI document known as an FD-1023.

Of course they do. Same way Biden’s base looks the other way with corruption from any other Democrat. Out of millions of Democrat/Biden followers, I can’t find a single one who mentions, much less condemns Biden’s corruption. When I post news articles about it, they either defend Biden, attack Trump, remain silent, or tag my post with a laughing emoji. No comment, just the laughing emoji. Which speaks volumes as to how they view and treat democrat corruption.
Everything they claim to find fault with Trump about (whether true or false), they turn a hypocritical blind eye to Democrats who are guilty of the same faults or worse.
For all their accusations of a Trump cult, it is democrats who have time and again demonstrated a truly slavish, almost cult like devotion to the democratic party label.

I’ll tell you. For some reason, I am completely immune to propaganda and can usually see it for exactly what it is in real time.
I am fiercely independent, my wife the same. No need or desire to fit in anywhere, so maybe that’s it.
Trump is a fairly normal person in my view. Tells jokes, enjoys nice things, likes hot chicks. Just like me.
What is not normal is the level of attack directed at him. half the country appears to me to be like an angry ex-wife scorned just railing on a dude 24/7 for 8 years now.
NONE of that stuff sticks with me. 0.00% of it. But some, with an appeaser mindset might just give that angry wife a mercy 20%. Not fair at all, but people do it.
That is not Trump’s fault in my view. Responsibility for that type of behavior and thinking lies with the individual. The ex-wife is a demonstrated lunatic, and anyone that would throw in with that in any amount is wrong in my opinion.
Appeasement was wrong when Chamberlain did it, and I believe Jesus addressed it as well in the bible. This is what my opinion is based on.
