Bud Light sales declines are accelerating, and shares of parent company Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD) are falling alongside them.
New data from Nielsen revealed Bud Light sales declined 24.3% year-over-year in the week ending May 20 while Budweiser sales were down 20.4% during the same period. Last week sales were down 21.6% and 17.6% respectively. Driven by backlash from an advertising campaign with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, Bud Light sales have now declined for six weeks, per Nielsen.
Shares of AbInBev fell nearly 5% on Tuesday, the worst intraday action on the stock since Mulvaney's post on April 1. Since the day of the post, ABInBev shares have fallen roughly 18%.
Citi analyst Simon Hales argues the drop in Budweiser sales could provide a buying opportunity for investors.
"There continues to be contagion to the wider ABInBev brand portfolio, with Budweiser, Busch and Michelob all weak again," Hales wrote in a note on Tuesday. "Meanwhile, Coors Light continue to see share gains accelerate. The latest data shows little sign that consumers are moving on from the Bud Light controversy, and we expect these issues will continue to weigh on investor sentiment. Nevertheless, we believe the pullback creates an interesting entry point for longer-term investors."

Here is your answer. It sunk more today.
What happens when you think that the liberal mania rules.
Not a bud guy but stopped buying all inbev products.
Enter George Soros. He destroys cultures to destroy institutions to buy them up in the bargain bin. He’s the one who kills off Reardon Steel. Hungary too! (The Country)
Echo chamber lifeboats.
Memorial Day weekend is a key indicator for summer beer sales as it is the start of outdoor barbeque season. The sales slide for Bud Light continues during a time they should historically be way up.
For what it’s worth, here in southwest Florida there are Bud Light cases for sale in Publix (24 cans for $21) but no sign of the female impersonator’s face on them.
They could be 24 cans and pay me $21 and I wouldn’t take it.
Bud closed down 4.71% (at $54.46)
Kohls down 5.14% (at $19.00)
Target down 3.66% (at $133.84)
Disney down .53% (at $87.82)
I guess all these corporations are wondering when the downward slide on their stocks will stop. I’m sure the ESG activists promised them that it would only be temporary and the consumers would soon turn to something else and accept the DIE indoctrination.
I’m sure stockholders are delighted over this latest development.
The best boycott is a grassroots ideological one that needs no coordination or centralization. There is no one identifiable group to counter attack.
Same here. ALL In-Bev are sayonara!
I was with a friend buying beer for our hubbies at a lakeside bar yesterday afternoon. There were only two non AB-InBev beers offered, Miller Lite and Dos Equis. Everything, and I do mean everything, else was an In-Bev product.
Her husband is a ML guy, and since they had zero local craft beers offered, Dos Equis was what I got for my husband. Heineken owned. Thank goodness there was one beer that my husband could drink.
“The best boycott is a grassroots ideological one that needs no coordination or centralization.”
Indeed, but it’s been said here previously that this isn’t a boycott. A boycott implies coming back after a change or a concession. Bud Light has been abandoned.

Went to a concert a week ago. No Bud Light but everything else was AmBev, beer, wine, water. It may take a season for some of these contracts to run out .
Good point.
The power of the normalcy.
