“Him Haffa-get a Beatin”, as Peter Tosh would say.
Stereotypes exist for a reason, they are often true.
She seems perfectly reasonable.
It’s always been a known fact that the majority of Africans will rarely date or wed an American black. I was told this by an African years ago and witnessed it in my place of employment.
Were all her short-term renters Black Americans? Or were those who were not also a problem?
For a vacation landlord, quick turnover is expensive. The owner has to allow cleaning time between renters, and a one- or two-night stay might fall at a point in the week that results in a vacancy or a day or more.
I sympathize with the person while not seeing the utility of her making a TikTok video about her.
Americans should have the same freedom of association. Yet, here in America, diversity and negro worship are the national religions, despite 1A. All Americans are forced to worship at the altar of the new religion, created by founder Ted Kennedy, or be convicted of blasphemy and ostracized from society. There are even thought/hate crimes for those who speak against the national religion.
I'm sure she's not worried that anyone in Jamaica will disagree with her. Most of them have some sort of interaction with tourists I'm sure.
In NYC, when I was about 12, I was assaulted by some teenagers.
In NYC, when I was a young person going home from work, I was held up at knife-point and the people demanded I give them everything I had on me, including my money and watch and wallet. That happened to me twice on the subway.
When I was a bit older (30-something) I was accosted on the street on my way home, and was robbed of everything they could take.
All of those incidents were perpetrated by yound black kids and men. I was never assaulted or robbed by Hispanics or whites while I lived in NYC.
I’ll just leave it at that. (Draw your own conclusions)
BTW, I’m Hispanic and was engaged to a beautiful young black girl while I was in my twenties. My point is that, I was never a racist and I’m not one now, but, the crime statistics do point to a whole lot of trouble with young black kids and men.
I met African blacks decades ago in college who considered American city blacks to be extremely beneath them.
this woman is absolutely correct....there is an air of privilege among certain groups, and it just doesn't fly in other countries.....
Color me shocked. Whoever would of thunk?
Speaking truth... to everyone.
The woman’s announcement sparked a firestorm of criticism?
Truth sounds like hate to those who hate truth.
There is a reason stereotypes exist, though I will admit they are unfair to those within the stereotyped group who do not fit the stereotype. The problem is no one has time to evaluate every person in a stereotyped group on an individual basis so we have to play the odds.
And, of course, everyone who complained about this black lady’s video is an entitled black murican with hand out looking for the latest freebies.
Wow, people in Jamaica have eyes and ears too!
That’s gotta sting a little.
What a joke.
First, the entire world is seeing the way many, if not most black Americans behave -- it isn't a secret known only to black Americans.
Second, Jamaicans and non-black Americans in general don't care what the race of the people are who are listening to their take on black Americans.
