Why are people still wearing those stupid masks?

Posted on 05/23/2023 2:53:57 PM PDT by Kevin in California

Just got back from the grocery store and saw an elderly couple (most likely married) step out of their vehicle sporting masks. Saw a few idiots in the store wearing them as well.

it is common in workplaces now for folks to wear masks if they are slightly sick. I am in manufacturing......you can’t stay home because of a cough or cold. But wearing a mask signals to others, only converse if necessary.

With all the f’d up things in the world, masks might be last.

Halloween, bank robbery, making faces at your boss, avoiding kissing someone’s ass? You mean like those reasons?

On ultra-liberal member of our HOA board wears one for the entire meeting. Can’t understand what she says. But that’s Ok - we always vote no after she speaks.

I don’t care how many people wear masks as long as they don’t expect me to wear one.

It is spiritual and patriotic Christian places have less masks than non-patriotic and non-Christian places.

Possibly because such people have faith that our maker gave us a robust immune system that we can trust above all else.

Maybe also that whoever attempted to make a powerfully dangerous virus could not have had the wisdom of eternity on their side, and were bound to fail to make something persistent if not fail outright.

Following a trip to Northern California, a mask enthusiast that I know gushed about how Northern Californians are so much more responsible than Southerners because they were still wearing masks. I told her that I had just attended a demonstration against a mask mandate at a local school district, and she said she would now have to stay away from me because I might give her the China virus (she didn’t call it that) just because I was at an anti-mask protest.

I recall reading a while back when the face diaper stupidity was being rolled back, some women was quoted as stating:

“I still wear a mask so no one will think I am a conservative.”

Governor Inslee of WA is still encouraging people to wear masks and a Loy of virtue signalers are only too happy to comply, especially clerks in Fred Meyers. When they ask me to donate to something when I pay, I tell them that I can’t hear them when they are wearing a mask.

The only people I see regularly wearing masks in Los Angeles are the clerks in coffee shops and supermarkets.

I asked them about it. They say it's voluntary. Each clerk decides for himself. But most decide to wear, whatever their race or sex.

The only people I see on the street wearing masks (and it's rare) are elderly white women and Asian women of all ages. More rarely an Asian man.

The mask saves me from shaving every day. I shave once a month now.

Just as we celebrate our freedom to not wear masks, we should celebrate their freedom to wear them.

Agreed! Liberty rocks when we respect it.

Yes. I see them every day in my 85% always Dem region of Michigan.

Admit I have not seen a dog (or cat) wearing one for months now.
Dog probably looked up to the person and said “Uh, are you serious about this? Do you think I’m stupid enough to lower myself to act as dumb as you are?”

Person slowly dropped the mask and gave up.
