A's Announcer Glen Kuiper Apologizes for Appearing to Use Racial Slur During Broadcast

Kuiper has been the announcer for the Las Vegas A's for about 20 years. A couple weeks ago, he was talking about visiting the Negro League Museum in Kansas City, and it sounded like he said something else.

Why did they make him wait two weeks?

His brother is the announcer for the San Francisco Giants. Shouldn't they fire him as well?

While speaking to broadcast partner Dallas Braden in the pregame segment, Kuiper seemingly mispronounced the word “Negro,” when describing the museum, instead saying the slur.

For whites, a fireable offense.

But blacks can use the clear "hard-R" N-word as part of their daily vocabulary with zero repercussions.

Love the double standard around this word.
