So I just saw the Trump commercial re: Desantis. He accuses Desantis of wanting to cut Medicare funding among other things. All dark and foreboding in black and white (of course). And here's my favorite part: "Desantis even voted to raise the retirement age to 70"!!
Anyone even halfway responsible who looks at the Social Security trust fund numbers knows the retirement age will have to be lifted. Americans are living longer. There's no other option. Well, there is one other option -- raising SS taxes and/or raising or eliminating the income cap. Both Democrat solutions.
Of course Trump has no proposed solution to this problem. He just promises us a "big beautiful Social Security System" with no details as to how that will happen, and takes shots at anyone having the courage to vote for real solutions. For those of us who are small government conservatives (which used to constitute the majority of Free Republic), Trump is showing his true feathers as just another big government Democrat. Which he used to be.
Solving our fiscal problems and at least slowing down our journey to the financial cliff will require straight talk and courage. When it comes to the budget, Trump has demonstrated neither. The deficit continued to skyrocket during his tenure, and he couldn't sign the stimulus checks fast enough. He even baited Biden because his checks weren't as big as Trump's were.
So if you believe in smaller government and fiscal restraint, and are a Trump supporter, you're being played. He's just trying to buy your vote with your money like the rest of them. In other words, he's the latest in a long line of Presidents who are no-courage hacks.
Of course his supporters will come out of the woodwork throwing rocks. They won't refute or debate any of these points. They'll just rant about MAGA this or Desanctimonious that. They are so firmly entrenched in the Cult of Trump they can't see past the lips firmly planted on his ass.
You mean Trump has a bad endorsement record?
Trust fund... blah blah...Americans are living longer... blah blah...
The “problem” of Americans “living longer” is being “solved”. I see how older patients are now treated - how their care is now dished out based on “life expectancy” and “contribution” (I’ts actually been said in front of a church member in the hospital recently).
Further - I consider that no male on my Dad’s side has lived more than 73 years.... if the “retirement age” is raised to 70 (or more), I won’t benefit anywhere near what I have paid in. But that’s the point.
What is killing the “trust fund” (is that a joke?) has nothing to do with people living longer. It is about:
#1 - Congress used it as a slush fund (it has NEVER been held in a “trust fund” - it has been spent.
#2 - giving it out as an “entitlement” to hundreds of thousands.. maybe millions who never paid in - or paid very little into the system.
Nobody wants to go back to the GOPe RINOs, and Trump is the only guy who is not one of them.
DeSantis is just his majesty King W. Bush III
Is there anything “beneath” Donald Trump? Really?
I’m proudly voting for President Trump. I really like what Huckaby stated on his program recently as why he is endorsing Trump, very eloquent and all factual. I don’t have the site address as I was driving across country when I heard it on the And We Know, podcast. You can find, And We Know, on Rumble.
So you vote for your guy and Conservative, America First patriots will vote for Trump. By the way latest polls have him up by what_30 points on the most competitive politician running against him. Could be higher and by now the 7 million he raised off Bragg in NY, who the Bushes and the Biden’s are in bed with no doubt, is probably nearing 10 to 12 million.
Anti Trump posts just steel my backbone anymore. Tells me President Trump is rooting out a lot more in the political arena other than Deep State thugs.
Wow! Awesome post. Did the anti trumper even bother to respond? Lol
You haven’t noticed that he has less than a stellar record of candidate wins in the general election?
He makes an endorsement based not on political merit, but on degree of fealty to him. Then the Repub base rallies behind the candidate to win the primary. The Dims have supported some Trump endorsed candidates to help them win their primaries. Then in the general the Dims fund raise heavily and energize their base due to Trump’s endorsement of the candidate. The candidate goes down in flames in the general. He’s the best fund raiser the Dims have ever had.

Buy a brain cell. ๐
Which Republican has a better endorsement...wouh comparative numbers please.
So, your thoughts on the matter pretty much align with mine.
You speak the truth.
Making light of Trump being charged with politically motivated non-crimes? Not a good look. But at least you outed yourself.
Americans who don’t need Social Security are living longer.
Bookmark for future rogues gallery when they deny it
Thanks
Outed myself as what? Someone who doesnโt trust a serial liar? And yes, I think someone cheating on their wife is a liar.
And how would anyone do that? After Trump has endorsed in the primaries and his followers rush out and give the nomination to his endorsed candidate how do you compare? DJT is highly successful in getting a candidate nominated. It’s getting them elected where he falls flat. Think GA and PA for starters. He endorsed Cox in MD because he was angry at Hogan, not because Cox was a good candidate. Cox’s campaign ads were completely cringe worthy.
So do some research and get back to us with your findings, if you want to pursue this further.
Both Democrat solutions.
Someone got a note out of Hotel California
The point is trump has done more for conservatism than anyone else in many years. You’re just a bitter noisemaker who has done F all.
