With King Charles' Coronation just weeks away, the Palace is scrambling to secure big-name musicians to perform on the big day.
According to reports from The Sun, the royal team is struggling to secure artists for His Majesty’s big Windsor Castle concert on May 6th, after three more acts have reportedly turned down the royal gig.
Elton John, the Spice Girls and Harry Styles had all been invited to perform, but have had to turn down the offer due to conflicting tour schedules.
A source tells The Sun, “Organisers are working against the clock to pull together an exciting line-up but have hit a series of challenges."
“Elton John was top of Charles’ list but due to his European tour, which sees him performing in Germany the Friday before then again soon after the Windsor concert, he isn’t able to make the dash to the UK work."
“Meanwhile, man-of-the-moment Harry Styles is also tied up with touring and unable to get key band members together as they’ll be on much-needed downtime.”
British singer Olly Murs is rumoured to be filling in the performance spot, joining Take That’s Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald who are due to headline the concert, which will also feature Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Andrew Lloyd Webber and US soul great Lionel Richie.
The royal source said, “Olly has such stage presence and a huge fanbase, he’d be a great addition.”
The news comes just weeks after Ed Sheeran, Adele and Robbie Williams also turned down the offer.
Prior to the acts pulling out of the Coronation celebrations, organisers of the event had stated that King Charles was enthusiastic about their appearances, with one source sharing that “the King has suggested a number of people he would like to perform and Adele and Ed were on that list. He was very keen that they were part of the concert."
The same source went on to explain that "there is a team set up to get the talent signed up so they approached the two of them, but got replies saying that they were unavailable, which was a massive disappointment."
"They are titans of the showbiz industry and are quintessentially British but also known across the globe. It's such a shame."
That’s a Winner!!
Thanks.
Maybe Jon Cary could send James Taylor over to sing “You’ve Got A Friend”. Bring along Lizzo and her flute too.
In truth his nickname is “Sir Charles”, not “King Charles”. I was looking for an excuse to post the meme. LOL
they’ll be on much-needed downtime.”

Is this the same as when a girl says she has to wash her hair that night?
Yes, she did. This American liked her very much.
Yep, only more British......................

Ugh, wouldn’t that put Harry closer to being the king?
No, Harry is not in the line of succession.

They should get Great Thornburg to do a pagan dance to the gods at Stonehenge for Charlie.
“They all need to go away.”
Couldn’t agree more. In my opinion Elizabeth II was and will always be the LAST of the monarchy. Her offspring are a bunch of self-entitled spoiled rotten brats, wildly spending the public’s money.
Good job.
Greta Thornburg
Oh yes - perhaps they could do "Islands in the stream" LOL!
His daughter is as well.
I thought he was 5th in line?
Oh my goodness - what an embarrassment that was.
Or she could sing ‘You Ain’t Woman Enough to Take My Man”.............
