A teaching aide who was brutally beaten by a 6'6" teen student is a 'humble' mom-of-two whose son attends the same high school, it has been revealed.
Joan Naydich, 57, of Palm Coast, Florida, was thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious by an unidentified teen student on Tuesday at Matanzas High School after she took away his Nintendo Switch.
The mother-of-two has a son Morgan, a senior, who attends the high school and a daughter who graduated in 2013. She has worked for Flagler County Schools since 2004 and has worked at Matanzas since 2021.
'Joan is humble, never asks for help and needs our love/support during this difficult time,' friend and fellow parent, Jessica White Leon, wrote on GoFundMe. 'I've had the privilege of getting to know Joan through our kids' bowling team for Matanzas HS for the last six years!'
Flagler County deputies found Naydich with 'severe' injuries after she was hit by the student at least 15 times. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. It is unclear if she is still in the hospital.
Sheriff Rick Staly told WESH 2: 'This could have been a homicide.'
The student, who is special needs, was arrested and charged with a juvenile felony for aggravated battery with bodily harm, which faces up to five years. He is currently in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
In surveillance footage, released by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, the hulking student can be seen rushing up to Naydich before launching her across the room, her body flying several feet.

Hopefully, the woman survives...and sues the Schiff out of the school for allowing a dangerous person, like this kid, to be there.

We live in perhaps the first time in history where the mentally unwell and poor routinely prey on the well off and educated. Look at the upper middle class, they stay in security protected gated communities and venture out timidly to shop and drink in “safe” areas. While the hateful misfits and their children strut out in the open in our cities and dare to be challenged, even worse they attack the upper and middle class to rob, rape and kill. They often are well fed on government food stamps and healthy thanks to Medicaid.
There have been 100 videos on FR showing exactly this sort of thing happening over and over and over.
In public schools the good kids live in constant fear of the misfits. Most parents spend a small fortune to send them to private schools because of that.

I drive a Special Needs school bus. Most of these kids have some minor issues, but three have always been more of a “problem”. Two are brothers, about 3 years apart. Both are severely autistic. The younger one has a major breakdown 3-4 times a week just trying to get him on the bus. While not violent, he is extremely resistant to good behavior. The older brother is not as bad but is resistant to good behavior too. They have an older brother that I have been told is “semi-normal”. All three are biracial, no dad seen. The third child is autistic, resistant to good behavior, but not violent, just does as he is allowed.
All three of these males may be autistic, unable to learn, but I have noticed (suspect anyway) that all three can understand what is said and plan accordingly. Call it animal cunning. And will smile when they realize you catch them understanding.
Can these kids be educated, trained to be productive? NO. But I am sure they can be trained to behave. Learn to be good, or fear to be bad, either will work as long as no innocents are hurt. And by innocents, I mean teachers, teacher’s aide like this woman, or the “normal students” trying to earn. Tasers, paddles, I don’t know what we can use, but fear can change behavior. I fear jail thus I behave accordingly. And I am polite when out because I know some might be armed if I decide to be a total a**hole

She’s 57, so she’s probably in rough shape. This criminal belonged in a lockdown facility & not a school. Why they refuse to remove these violent predators is the problem. Until enough victims, including parents whose kids are put in harms way, start suing & bankrupting these districts nothing will change.
I’m a retired teacher & we had several kids in kindergarten who were feral & violent. Nothing was ever done.

She should press charges, AND sue the school system.
You’re in Florida? I remember places south of Miami where a white guy driving through was presumed to be looking for drugs, and would be swarmed by competing dealers.
I don’t know. If they did, would they have the courage to use one in such an obvious situation as this ?
