I drive a Special Needs school bus. Most of these kids have some minor issues, but three have always been more of a “problem”. Two are brothers, about 3 years apart. Both are severely autistic. The younger one has a major breakdown 3-4 times a week just trying to get him on the bus. While not violent, he is extremely resistant to good behavior. The older brother is not as bad but is resistant to good behavior too. They have an older brother that I have been told is “semi-normal”. All three are biracial, no dad seen. The third child is autistic, resistant to good behavior, but not violent, just does as he is allowed.
All three of these males may be autistic, unable to learn, but I have noticed (suspect anyway) that all three can understand what is said and plan accordingly. Call it animal cunning. And will smile when they realize you catch them understanding.
Can these kids be educated, trained to be productive? NO. But I am sure they can be trained to behave. Learn to be good, or fear to be bad, either will work as long as no innocents are hurt. And by innocents, I mean teachers, teacher’s aide like this woman, or the “normal students” trying to earn. Tasers, paddles, I don’t know what we can use, but fear can change behavior. I fear jail thus I behave accordingly. And I am polite when out because I know some might be armed if I decide to be a total a**hole
